I'm running Merlin 380.58 on a RT-AC68U and want to give 380.60 Beta 2 a try. Do these steps look ok for my upgrade?

1) Run John's awesome nvram backup with -m
2) reset to defaults
3) reboot
4) flash 380.60 beta 2
5) reset to defaults
6) reboot
7) Run John's nvram restore script created in step 1
8) reboot

Thanks

You can skip step 2.

5 through 8 might not be necessary even, since you aren't jumping too many revisions, and I haven't noticied any low-level change between these two releases that might require a factory default reset.

and if I want to upgrade from : 378.56_2 ? (AC68U)
Do I need to factory default and setup all my settings again ?
As you see I haven't upgraded a while since all releases after this one seemed unstable or problems with wifi drivers etc....

I don't test every possible upgrade scenarios. Try it, just be prepared to do a factory default reset if you notice any issue.

did the upgrade, but for sure used factory default reset and restore of nvram settings (nvram backup with -m option)
no problems so far :)

The steps I did above are so easy I would always do them. It's not worth the risk of time and effort IMHO to skip them and save a whole 5 minutes tops.
