Hello, I have the AC86U with Diversion and Skynet and recently i have been getting spammed with an mcast error and not sure where to even look. Right before the error there is nothing that suggests what it could be. I am not sure whats happening. Eventually I have to reboot and I will have internet again.

I've started getting the same - was this ever solved?

I'm running Asus Merlin 384.13 on an RT-AC86U

Getting this aswell ax88u. Anyone know the reason? I have no torrents going. Skyguard, wireguard and diversion running.

I'm also getting this error, can someone please explain?

Basic settings stock 41994 on AC86U, first day after reset:

Code:

The router is working properly. I have no idea what it means.

As of today, I again see a lot of these entries:
Code:
Oct 5 23:26:37 kernel: ^[[0;33;41m[ERROR mcast] bcm_mcast_blog_process,789: blog allocation failure^[[0m
What's the cause?
I'm on an AC86U with latest merlin fw.
Another AC86U as an AiMesh node.

Same in my log, ac86u with latest firmware stock or merlin makes no difference.
What is this?

Those of you with the multicast issues, in Wireless Professional the proper setup for multicast is:
- Enable IGMP Snooping = Enable
- Multicast Rate (Mbps) = Auto

If the speed is set to other than auto and a member of the broadcast group is set to a specific speed and is connected slower than that speed, it will not be able to receive the multicasts. It is best to let the router manage the speed.

If are are configured this way, you could disabling IGMP although this may adversely affect a multicast application.

No idea, but I haven't seen it with newer firmware versions. They have different issues.
Well I see it in 3.0.0.4.386.45956 and merlin 386.4.
Trying to figure out why these appear in the log, but all I know/think is they have to do with multicast / igmp snooping.
Sometimes only a few a day and sometimes lots...
Hope there is anyone who can tell me whats triggering this.
Router is working fine btw

The log entries starting like this (kernel: bcm_mcast_mld_add:833), don't look to me like errors,or maybe they are?
But getting dozens a day or sometimes a few makes me want to know why and what.
I seen more post from people getting this, but nobody has an answer it seems.
Google doesn't help also.
Edit : I found something merlin has wrote about this

Post in thread '[384.14_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.' http://www.snbforums.com/threads/384-14_alpha-builds-testing-all-variants.59019/post-524815

So nothing to worry about?
Still, why 1 day nothing and the next day 20+ of those entries..

It's happens when an application dose something to trip the message.

Keyboard error? This application is perhaps doing something (does), but not dosing something (dose). :)

I'm dyslectic so my spelling can be off. I've been quite successful despite the handicap.

Some multicast application is running and causing the log entries. The application dose not run all the time so the entries are intermittent. Absolutely normal...

It`s ok, i understand what you mean.
English isn't my native language so my spelling can be waaaay off:)
But...i get these entries also in the middle of the night, when there is nothing happening wifi wise.
Thats why i am a little bit worried whats causing this.
Anyway, i let it be for now.
Thanks for the replies, the both of you
