Regarding RT-68R External Hard Drive

Hello, Just recently bought this router as a refurb unit. Everything is working great so far. Flashed the latest Merlin build.

Issue: My External HDD works on the USB 2.0 Hub, and able to access it without issues.

If I plug it in the USB 3.0 port (Which I want to do, since my external is USB 3.0) The HDD is undetectable, this is the error in system log

hub 2-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 1

Well.. Didn't realize that it was that simple. This router has so many settings. Coming from DD-WRT on my E2000.

Hello again, It started working which was great, but once I started streaming via DLNA for example, it would stop buffering or 'crash' after about 10 seconds, and seems like it kept disconnecting. Am I missing something here? Thanks

Could be either a DLNA compatibility issue with your client, or radio interference. Do you have the same issue when using the USB2 port?

if not, then you will need to use a better shielded USB3 cable, or a better shielded HDD, as it's probably interfering with your 2.4 GHz wifi.

I'll try that out, could be the horrible shielding of my external. No issues with the USB 2.0 connection.

EDIT: DLNA was the issue with the sharing issue. Any reason why it would do that? I was able to map out the drive... but I wanna be able to MAP the whole hard drive, not just the folder?
