maybe if someone on that other forum, in that thread, posts and asks him, he will post 3100 FW

I was actually going to sign up for that forum and ask but when i seen they want your mobile phone number to confirm the account i declined.. :( Asus 1354 works good for me but it would be nice for a new version being it's such a new router that i know can be even better.

yes of course I did a factory reset I checked twice
3.0.0.4.380.1354 = 920 mbs
3.0.0.4_380_2064 = 600 mbs

2064 looks good except wired throughput. Yes, same here, down to 720mbps from 939mbps. Revert back to 1681 everything fine.

One question guys: is the RT-AC88U capable of handling at full speed a USB 3 Hub on its USB3 port? I really didn't find any clear answer on that

That was it, I was testing over wifi only. I did a wired test and the speeds seemed slower than normal. Back to 1354 (what I was using before) and everything seems normal again.

I got mine a few weeks before launch and it's an A1. I suspect it was a last-minute change in manufacturing, and that revision never made it to retail.

It will join the ranks of my RT-AC87U which has white LEDs, while the final released revision had blue LEDs. :)

Hi

Just got one last week, and it has white LEDs, so it means that it is an A1 Hardware? Does it mean that ASUS might have changed some components due to performance or stability issues? Should I return the Router? Thanks

Hi,
I have white leds on mine and I have A2 hardware.

No.

The LED colour I'm talking about was for the RT-AC87U. The RT-AC88U always shipped with white LEDs.

sigh, v2064 doesn't seem to eliminate the troubles of a RT-AC88U in media bridge mode while connected to a RT-AC88U in router mode.

I finally wired the other side of my house and put a switch in instead of using a wireless bridge.
I sent all my logs in on an escalated ticket and haven't had a response from Asus for three weeks. All they are doing is deflecting as they know this problem exist but do not even want to discuss it. My logs shows the client on the AP dropping. The Bridge logs show very short connect time versus days on the AP side. This is because it keeps dropping connection.

My AC88U is gonna be here tomorrow, so I'm already looking for the newest firmware. Is your stuff already stable and recommended merlin? Just wondered because the newest firmware from asus seems to be newer than yours.

My router is completely stable if not running a bridge to the other router. The problem was in AP and Media bridge mode. The bridge would drop and reconnect at will every few hours or so. Heck, they won't even stay connected to each other when nothing else was connected but my modem. No other wired or wireless connections and the bridge would still disconnect. The funny thing was that the RT-AC88U would connect for days on end to my RT-AC87U with no problem. I am still running .1354. At some point I will update and retest with newer firmware.

The RT-AC88U is my primary router, and I have zero issues with it so far running my firmware.

True it does run fine with your last build but your build is based on 858 code. So that means there are newer code available such as 1354 and soon to be released 2064 that some are already using. Can't speak for 2064 but 1354 is rock solid.

The fact that newer code exists doesn't mean that previous versions aren't working reliably :) The 1354 changelog is actually pretty short, and I've seen very little changes at the code level when I merged it.

True that just pointing it out. I would really prefere to run your builds and hoping you can get back to compiling again real soon. :)

Hello,

First at all sorry about my bad english and thank you very much for your firmwares...

Recently i purchased a new 88U (i had before 87U) and as always the frst thing i did was flashing your fw.
At this moment everything is working fine for me except for one:
All the smartphones on my house are APPLE my own is iphone 6S Plus wich i connect to the 5ghz wifi, whit this phone i had excellent wifi speed whit the 87U, my ftth is 300/30Mb, but now whit the 88U i cant reach even 150Mbs of download and the conex is very unstable (many peaks).
Is there anything i can do to fix this??? i leave a screenshot of my history speedtests so u can see my last speedtests whit 87U and the new ones whit 88U (same phone, same ftth, same place and even at the side of the router)...

In this capture u can see the peaks:

Looks like you're having some wireless packet collisions. On the wireless settings, professional tab, lower your RTS threshold to 2305 for starters, then retest. (You will need to do this for each band)

Hello Puppa and thanks you for your answer, after setting this RTS threshold on both bands the speed dropped very hard even for upload and get worst :(
I leave a couple of carptures... Any other idea?
