I am on Merlin 374.35_4. My DLNA server rescanning at each reboot or whenever i turn off and then on the DLNA server or at random. I have a 3Tb hard drive, formatted to EXT3, attached to it. It takes more than a day to complete scanning. I have recently undated the firmware from 372.31, set it to factory default, and cleared the NVRAM. I also had the same issue in the previous firmware. When I was on 270.26 one year before i did not have this problem, It only rescanned for new files only.

My hard drive has a volume label so it mounted same way whenever i reboot, and DLNA db folder is also my hard drive and selected from the GUI menu.

Is there any setting that can change in minidlna.conf to make this work? any help is appreciated

I only figured out this issue recently basically you need to manual start minidlna without the rescan switch to replicate how it functioned on 270.26b

manually or with a script like in this post

Rescan is the default firmware behaviour as it can't detect changes like files added whilst disconnected. You can get around that though if your added files are in new folders by just temporarily appending the names with one character once the disc is mounted and dlna is on.

I used to do that over samba, but I'm trying to semi automate it via scripts on the router.
