RT-N66U: difference between 30/30/30 reset and 10s WPS button reset?

What's the difference between both reset methods?
Both clears the NVRAM. Why bother with the 30/30/30?

Afaik, 30/30/30 doesn't work with Asus routers.

30/30/30 is a DD-WRT-ism, and shouldn't be used with Asus routers, because you will most likely end up with the router left in recovery mode rather than with a cleared nvram.

Even dd-wrt with new routers, 30-30-30 is passe. But doing it does not harm any thing. Die hard old habits.
