I used rt ax88u and this morning when I tried to update trend micro signature version I get an error "Signature update failed". Is anyone getting similar errors as I do?

Same here.

Do you want a badge of honour?

TM sig updates are sporadic at best, there may well be no updates available , add to that it's the Christmas period so they may well be closed.

It's also not something anyone here could remedy. All Trend Micro features are closed source and can't be touched by Merlin.

Just wait and try again, in the past many have found that those signatures fail to update for weeks or even months.

No sir, I do not want a badge of honor. I've been using Asus routers for 7 years and running Merlin for the last 3 of those. I have never had this happen to me personally before. Just trying to be helpful.

Yes, I confirm this. I am running 386.4 Beta 2 on RT-AC86U I can see no pertinent log file entries in the system log. I am using logging level "all" Lates update date is

2.066 Updated : 2021/10/29 10:44

That's a very old signature. Current one is 2.266 Updated : 2021/12/11 15:30 (or maybe even a newer one that I don't have yet).

Thanks for asking this question. Nothing worse than coming back from vacation, clicking update, and getting a “update failed.”

Yes. I do, with a flaming passion, turn into a big angry Russian whenever I see “update failed.” You see it is not my fear of Russians, for I am a Russian, named Andrei, zdraste. I hate seeing “update failed,” so annoying, much like trolls on the internet.

I was thinking the house burned down or a flooded basement is a bit worse. :)
We don't even know if there is an update. What fails is the connection to the server.

Me too.
AX86U.
After many attempts, it still fails.

It happened a few times in the past. Typically it's because a signature file is missing on their server.
Trend Micro update fails also after reboot - ASUSWRT-Merlin RT-AC68U 386.3_2

Can anyone please tell me if my update error is related to my router or to the update portal?
And I wonder if my version 2266 is current or not

Welcome to the forums @rlunsingh.

This has been mentioned (and answered) many times already.

Use the Better Search option at the top of the forum.

The quick answer is that Asus has not yet uploaded some files yet, and they're missing (hence the 'failed').

If I try to download manually I get damage zip archive with 1 kb. (sig2nd_update.zip) ASUS must fix it on their side.
