Turning off 5GHz band increases boot time (RT-AC66U)

New Around Here
It seems that if i go to wireless-professional tab and try to deactivate the 5 GHz band, my router (RT-AC66U) goes nuts and increases the boot time by two-three times. This has been happening since i upgraded to 380.61
If i activate the 5 GHz band every thing goes back to normal.
Is there another way to disable it ? I am not using the 5 GHz atm, so there is no need to keep it on, but it seems i can't disable it without my router going crazy on boot time.

And why the hell this page keeps appearing so many times, it opens my browser automatically if my router takes a long time to boot.

Honest question - why would you need to reboot the router often enough for the boot time to be an issue?

Anyway, anything related to wireless is outside of my control.

That's true, but when you have a father like mine that wants to be economical by saving power, it's kinda hard to keep it on.

Thanks.

turning off the 5 gig is going to save bugger all power consumption wise so why bother doing it if it then effects boot time ? even then unless you live on batteries the whole power consumption of the router is very minimal , i think someone said a router like this may consume about $12 a year , and turning the router on and off may actually reduce its life span as bootup puts the most strain on the components , sounds like a bit of false economy to me .
