Hi, i download the last asuswrt-merlin firmware for AX58U and when try to install, it fails. Says that the file is invalid, i downloaded 4 with the same result. I have to do something to install it?
Firmware upgrade unsuccessful. This might result from incorrect image or error transmission, please check the model name RT-AX58U and version of firmware from support site and try again.
Searching the forums helps sometimes ... This might be your issue:
RT-AX58U & RT-AX58U V2
In the 386.4 Beta1 forum, mention is made that RT-AX58U V2 is not Rmerlin supported. I can't find anything in the snbforums or via Google what the difference between this unit and the RT-AX58U which is Rmerlin supported. Want to know how you identify the difference between the two units? To...www.snbforums.com
Yes, I check many times and download many times with same result:
If try to install the official firmware from asus web it says the same. The router have the version 3.0.0.4.384_8601
I read this and its the version V1 or so it says on the sticker
You need to check the boxes that clear JFFS on reboot and the other reset one:
One or both?No such thing in Asuswrt.
So what should be done?Nothing JFFS related. Restore is there. This router is low on RAM or the firmware jump is too big.
Correct model firmware, attempt the last 384 first, the first 386 next, etc. I have one AX58U on stock Asuswrt for tests, may fire it up to investigate.
