Hello All,

I need some help with my configuration. I have a asus RT-ac68U router with merlin 376.48_1 firmware. Great firmware !! I am using a laptop with a intel ac7260 wireless card. Connecting speed 866,7 Mbps.

When I upload a file to my Zyxel Nsa325 v2 the speed is very dissapointing. It is only 5 mb/s. Downloading from the nas wil go with a speed of 40 mb/s.

Connected by cable upload is 65 mb/s en download 90 mb/s.

When i login to the router and switch NAT acceleration off then the upload speed (wifi) is 40 mb/s. Downloading (wifi) also very fast about 55 mb/s.

I bought a extra wifi card from Azurewave AW-CE123H 802.11ac/nbg WiFi+BT Broadcom BCM4352 867Mbps Bluetooth 4.0 Because I would test if the wifi card was the problem but it is not. The azurewave card does the same. So it has to be in the firmware off the router.

Tested the older merlin firmwares and tested the asus firmware. All clean install after factory default and hard reset.

Can anyone explain whats is going on in my configuration ?
What does Nat acceleration do ?
Is this the maximum speed of my wifi ?

Hope someone can help me.

ps sorry for my bad english.

NAT acceleration is only useful if you have really, really fast internet connection. Basically, its the hardware acceleration of WAN to LAN ports. If you have Gigabit internet connection, then you need to keep it enabled to be able to use full speed of your internet. I am not sure what is the maximum speed of wan port without it, but its probably close to that of RT-N16, so around 100 megabits.
