New Around Here
Hi all,

I use an RT-N66U and Western Digital 2TB USB2 external drive.
Firmware Version:3.0.0.4.354.29 (Merlin build)

Has anyone come across these "error -62" errors:

I had the 2TB external drive working very nicely for VPN and SVN but last week the USB ports seem to have gone inactive. This hapened with the 270 version of Merlin, so the first thing I did was upgrade to the new beta but that did not help.
I have tried multiple different USB external storage device, all of which mount fine on Windows machines. I have tried several different USB cables. I also formatted my 2TB to ext3 on a linux machine and it was mounted OK on the Linux box.
Nothing gets seen by the N66U on USB anymore though.

Any ideas? Much appreciated if you have ;)

Cheers,

Andy

Try a complete power cycle:

1) Turn off the router
2) Unplug it from the AC wall
3) Turn it back on to drain any residual charge from it
4) Turn it off
5) Plug the power back in
6) Turn it on

I once had weird issues myself with my USB flash drive until I did a full power cycle. Looks like the controller was crashed, and needed a complete reset.

Thanks for the tip but it did not seem to fix my issue. I love this router so I'll grab another one tomorrow and see if the one I have now has a hardware issue.

New router solved the issue. Now to decide if I use the old one as a range extender or send it back ;)
Fingers crossed the new one remains OK.
