New Around Here
I've recently upgraded from a Tomato powered Linksys E3000 to the Asus RT-AX88U PRO running updated ASUSWRT firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_33340.

I have a couple Proton VPN servers set up in VPN Fusion and everything is working just fine. I'd like to try Merlin firmware, and I'm curios if my VPN Fusion settings will be properly implemented in VPN Director automatically or will I have to set the up from scratch? VPN Fusion was a piece of cake to set up, I'm curious if I can expect the same with Merlin?

Whenever you switch firmware a factory reset and reconfigure is strongly recommended. Hence, you will loose the VPN settings whether server or client. Like you, I found the Asus VPN Fusion easy to get working. I tested the recent Merlin firmware and did not like his setup. Just my choice, though.

Reconfigure everything. Asus OpenVPN code is different from Asuswrt-Merlin, they cannot be directly "converted".

Fair enough. I thought I read somewhere that most or all settings would be carried over.. maybe I was dreaming.

I wish there were a few good VPN Director how-to's out there so that I could get a good idea how to set it up before upgrading, rather than stumbling blindly while I upgrade.
I'll figure it out as I go I guess.

Thanks
