    How long are you waiting between hard reboots ?. Sounds like it is just waiting to receive an IP assignment from your ISP or maybe a bad cable between your router and Modem/ONT. You could try playing with the "DHCP query frequency" setting under WAN Advanced Settings page. Just curious..what...

    It's fairly common these days for ISP's to over provision. Enjoy the extra speed you were not expecting :)

    One trick I have seen work very well on a trusty RT-AC68 is just remove one of the 3 router mounted antennas and replace with a cable running to externally mounted antenna located where you need the improved coverage.

    Arris S33 on Comcast Business

    Unless you plan on upgrading to a tier greater than 1Gbps I would recommend going with the SB8200. It is approved for Comcast and considered by some to have better quality hardware than the S33. It has been a rock solid modem for me.

    Also remember that interference can come from many sources other than nearby AP's. So even you don't see any other AP's using a specific channel that doesn't necessarily mean it's free of interference and will provide the best results. Best to play around and see what works best in your environment.

    The RT-AX86U already has a proven track record of being a pretty good router. The RT-AX86U PRO is new and may have issues we are not aware of yet.

    USB 4G Dongle for RT-AC86U

    We have a location where I use a NETGEAR 4G LTE Broadband Modem (LM1200) feeding the WAN port of an RT-AC68U and it works great. Much less hassle than a USB Dongle.

    Solved VPN Director

    If I remember correctly, WAN rules take priority over VPN rules. If you have conflicting routes for VPN the router has no way of knowing which one you want to take priority. You could narrow down your DHCP scope to free up some addresses to test with and still have one rule to route everything...

    Based on my experience with the RT-AX86U you might be able to get away with just one RT-AX86U or RT-AX86S.
