@RMerlin has posted firmware 3004_388.9_alpha1-g64ce422528 for both the RT-AX58U (or RT-AX3000) and GT-AX11000. Changelog shows:
Code:
3004.388.9 (xx-xxx-2025)
  - NEW: (re-added) VPN interface selector on the Speedtest page,
to test a VPN tunnel's throughput.
  - UPDATED: Merged GPL 388_25373.
  - UPDATED: dropbear to 2024.86.
  - UPDATED: OpenVPN to 2.6.13.
  - CHANGED: VPN public IP retrieval now uses HTTP instead of STUN,
which should be more reliable through a VPN tunnel.
  - CHANGED: Model name will be inserted in the filename of JFFS backups.
  - CHANGED: Improved refresh behaviour of the VPN Status page.
  - CHANGED: Set rp_filter mode to "loose" on Wireguard client interfaces.
             Fixes gettunnelip.sh and onboard speedtest.
  - CHANGED: Display public IP address for Wireguard clients.
  - CHANGED: Make PCP requests also honor the Secure Mode setting
             (Self-Hosting-Group)
  - CHANGED: Settings/JFFS backup uploads file picker will filter by
             file extension.
  - CHANGED: Added dhd userspace tool to RT-AX88U and GT-AX11000.
  - FIXED: CVE-2024-9143 in OpenSSL (Debian backport by RSDNTWK)

NOTE: Alpha versions are unsupported early integration snapshots.

Why bother posting for 2 obscure models few people have. Why not just wait till more are available. That's why Merlin should be posting these release threads so he can explain what's up.

Test-builds are just what the name says: test builds that I compile during development while I do my own testing. They require no extra effort on my part beside just copying the generated files to a Onedrive folder, that's why I don't plan them or announce them.

They're just my way of handling what other software developers might refer to as "nightly builds" or "automated snapshots". I prefer not to let it run automatically because there are times during development where the webui may be completely broken. Those have gone through at least some basic testing.

These are the two available right now because they are the only GPLs that I have at the moment.

You might not have one of these routers, but there are other peoples who do. Some people enjoy using early firmware builds, and in return I generally use these for smoke testing. Everyone benefits.

Perhaps the most revolutionary change with this GPL is the fast-forwarding of the default date from May 5 2018 to Jan 1 2024 (or Dec 31 2023, depending on your timezone).
Diff:
-#define RC_BUILDTIME 1525496688 // May 5 05:04:48 GMT 2018
+#define RC_BUILDTIME 1704067200 // Jan 1 00:00:00 GMT 2024

Thank You!!

Your Pro router is unlikely to get a new 3004 GPL after it was moved to 3006 and all 3004 firmware versions were removed from Asus Support website.

What Asus releases on their website is not directly related to what I release. For instance I've released multiple RT-AX56U firmware on 388 while Asus only released 386 firmwares for that model.

Yes, with GPL provided by Asus:

Do you expect a new 3004 GPL from Asus for AX Pro models?

Unsure at this time, as we have been recently discussing starting to migrate some models to 3006, but no definitve model list has been decided yet. If a specific Pro model doesn't get moved immediately to 3006 then yes, they will still provide me with 3004 GPL code for it, regardless of whether on their end they have already migrated it to 3006.

With the Lunar New Year holiday coming, I don't expect everything to be ready for a couple of weeks.

Which is always the case, I get the GPL code directly from them. Hence, whatever posted on their own website is irrelevant to my situation.

What is important to everyone is different, but the GT-AXE16000 was a top model, but not a PRO model!
Everyone is talking about the fact that there is a chance for PROs. To switch to 3006.
This model also has a BCM4912 SOC. So there is a chance for 3006. But does asus think so too? Or does only the product name matter?

If it is not switched to 3006, then in my opinion it will have years less support. And this will be decided in these months.

Upgraded from latest stable to alpha and nothing to report so far. System log is clean, all clients are connected without any problems, and everything works as expected.

Yes everyone is asking about the RT-AX88U Pro and RT-AX86U Pro because they're popular models that likely have a significantly larger customer base than the much more expensive GT-AXE16000. The two aforementioned Pro routers already have stock Asus 3.0.0.6.102_x firmware released by Asus. Moreover Asus indicated early on with the AsusWRT 5.0 announcement that several of the Pro series would be getting the 3.0.0.6.x firmware. There doesn't appear to be any indication that Asus will be moving the GT-AXE16000 or various other router models to the 3.0.0.6.x firmware track. Asus likely has various reasons (possibly including hardware support) for their not doing so.

I have updated multiple RT-AX58U v1 routers and AiMesh nodes on several networks to the new alpha with no issues to report. Thanks again, @RMerlin.

One thing I forgot to mention: When logging into the web GUI for the first time, I was required to read and accept the new Privacy Policy and EULA to access the interface. After accepting, I immediately withdrew my consent, knowing that some services (e.g., DDNS, Account Sharing?, Alexa, Google Home Assistant, IFTTT, etc.) might not function properly.

So there is a chance for 3006.

GT-AXE16000 and ZenWiFi Pro ET12 were both high-end models at release time and both stuck to 3004 firmware perhaps due to upstream issues at Broadcom. Once issues are resolved you may see new 3006 firmware. This may or may not happen soon/ever because the focus is now entirely shifted to Wi-Fi 7 devices with own set of issues. It wasn't the best time to purchase Wi-Fi 6E devices. They were sort of intermediary step towards Wi-Fi 7 and never got really popular.
