lol, indeed. You're on a roll.
Wouldn’t that be bread?

Starting to think this next release will be a little bit special. You could say it’ll be the icing on the cake

woo hoo

RT-AX68U as a supported model

What is the additional gb567bc9

on network map the firmware version is 3.0.0.4.386_41700
then in the admin section the firmware version is 3.0.0.4.386_41700-gb567bc9

I've seen that AX68U has been added and it supports also LAN Link Aggregation. Why is not possible to extend this feature also to popular AC models like AC86U?
Many other feature has been shared in the past (like the "source IP address" capabilities in port forwarding rule which was on AC68 and not on AC88, but now it's possible)

If cake is coming to the webui, is there a chance of enabling skbedit so we can apply our own DSCP marking as well then?

@RMerlin will there be user scripts/configuration available for Cake?
Current implementation is similar to everything else in Asuswrt-Merlin. There is a qos-start script that gets executed between the moment the QoS config is generated and the moment it gets applied, so it can be modified by users through a user script. That design may still evolve a bit before release, for now it was implemented in a similar way to all the already existing QoS methods in the firmware.

This is actually an interesting ask as torrents can be tough (but not insurmountable) for the bakers in here.

or for Merlin alpha - this part g9aaa3e5486

That's the git hash from which the firmware was built. Pre-release builds append that to the version so one can quickly determine which exact code version the firmware was built from.

That depends if the iptables version used by the firmware also supports it. I haven't had time to check.

You could probably try using the dscp netfilter target module also.

Here`s a preview of the UI (I wanted to keep it simple, so only the fields related to overhead are available, and there is a preset dropdown to prefill them, just like with fq_codel:

Setting Bandwidth to "0" or "Automatic" will configure cake with bandwidth set to "unlimited". ingress-autorate was tested, and it was totally useless. Connecting to the router's WAN interface over SSH or the webui was ridiculously slow.

Here's one with the dropdown

Cheers.

Also just to keep everyone's expectations at a reasonable level: this is not compatible with hardware acceleration. So, forget about using Cake on your 500 Mbps connection, your CPU won't be able to keep up.

Now on cake-qos script the same thing

Now on cake-qos script the same thing

The question is: Will you have to uninstall independent script prior to firmware upgrade?
Do the settings port?

Of course firmware upgrade, if its work the same
