There is no gpon supportI am trying to get a GPON unit to work on my RT-ax89x router. Where can I download the 9.0.0.4.38xxx?
Looks like the files are back at the same link. New file posted a couple of weeks ago.I saw something similar to this on .33673 last night. I had two WiFi devices that could see the 5GHz network and attempted to connect to it, but upon re-connection the signal was unusually weak, there was no Internet access, and within seconds they'd be booted off the network.
Because I needed connectivity at the time, I didn't troubleshoot extensively or test with additional devices. A reboot (via the GUI using a wired client) solved the issue.
In other news, it's a little unsettling to see the beta firmware downloads vanish. With such long spans between official releases, that was my only way to ensure security updates and the only sign that Asus gave to indicate the AX89X was still on their radar. I think I'm just going to shift to an OPNsense mini PC router and reduce my AiMesh system to handling WiFi clients.
I upgraded to .33699 just now.Anyone has 9.0.0.4_388_33699 installed? how is it working? any new feature?
I also installed .33699 for the new year. So far so goodI upgraded to .33699 just now.
The string at the end of firmware filename makes it seem like specialized release to address a specific issue: "he20_us_bdf_minus_1.5dB_1". Not sure what to make of that.
No new features immediately jump out, but I have noticed that RAM usage is a good 4-5% higher than usual. I'm going to keep an eye on that after the runaway RAM leaks from a few versions ago.
I'm also seeing a reduced signal for some devices. For example, the Mac Studio I'm using right now has two signal bars as opposed to the full 3. Reconnecting did not improve the strength. Maybe this has to to do with the "–1.5dB" in the filename?
WAN speed test is 1383 Mbps down, 42 up, so things are good on that front.
Following up: RAM usage dropped back down to 53% and has remained there for the past couple of days.No new features immediately jump out, but I have noticed that RAM usage is a good 4-5% higher than usual. I'm going to keep an eye on that after the runaway RAM leaks from a few versions ago.

since that:So firmware posted a month ago is now old?
Considering the next earliest release firmware to 3.0.0.4.388_33744 was 3.0.0.4.388_32407 that was released on 2023/10/20. I'd say it's good that there is newer firmware. And 3.0.0.4.388_33744 would appear to be newer than the beta 9.0.0.4_388_33699 discussed up thread.
Not sure I understand. Anyway the gap between firmware releases for the RT-AX89X are sometimes up to a year or more:since that:
