Using 40MHz bandwidth is not only bad for your performance but bad for your neighbors as well.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong but #2, wireless mode, should be set to 'N Only' if all your client adapters are capable of supporting it. Otherwise, N clients connect at a lower speed. I haven't tested it myself but I recall reading that somewhere.

Both DLNA and itunes server work. I use both every day.

Opps my bad.
Upon further investigation I found the Win7 Media Server Sharing option was turned off on my win7 PC( not sure how that got turned off). Once I turned it back on, all was well again and I was back to streaming pics/video to my networked TV via the N66U.

I thought you were suggesting wireless settings as a starting point for Psykosis, not simply sharing your wireless settings. If they were a starting point I think the 40MHz suggestion was poor advice without more information.

Your last sentence is confusing. Not sure if you're talking about using 40MHz in general, you're situation, or the OP's situation.

I did factory restore and re-enter in all the data. But the Printer logo on the top right from the GUI page after login is still not green.

Network speed is ok. Printer still can print. But the Windows still cant sense my printer.

Anyone can advise?

Yupp.

It was a great printer. Previously i used a Netgear router but using a Lan port. The N66 didnt allow me to use the Lan port for printer. So its the first time i am using the USB for router.

On my DIR-655 I had to install software on my PC clients to use a printer off its USB port. Does the n66 have the same requirement? If so, can you see the printer from within their software?

How did you connect a LAN port from your netgear router to your printer previously? Is your printer able to be connected via Ethernet? If so why not hook it up to your n66 the same way? Something doesn't quite add up.

How about the setup of the printer itself. Does the n66 assign an IP to your printer? If so can you ping it from one of your clients while it's on? If it uses DHCP you may want to see if you can assign a static IP to it to make your client setup more straightforward and it may be easier to troubleshoot.

In my limited experience with plugging USB printers into USB ports on routers it's really a flaky setup. Sometimes they work and sometimes I had to reboot my client PC and manually power on the printer to get the software to see the printer. I bet ASUS has a hardware compatibility list for USB printers. Is yours on it?

If you continue to have trouble short of buying a network printer you may want to look into buying a stand alone USB print server. I have an inexpensive one from buffalo and it works flawlessly with my canon inkjet. My windows clients connect to it as a network printer.

1st thing I would do is connect the printer directly to a pc using the the usb port/cable. Ensure the printer works as desired [change printer/pc settings as necessary]. Going this method sometimes requires printer CD with drivers.

Then reconnect printer to N66U. Try to locate network printer. If it works, great, if it doesn't, report back...

Preferred connection choices are;
printer connected via network
2nd choice would be connected usb on router.

If you have a printer which has a ethernet port, that will always be the best method of connection.

Use the manufacturers software and get into the printer and hard code(set a static ip) or under the n66 assign a static ip to the mac address.

Use the software to install printer at the static ip. joy

This release sees the addition of PPTP Server & GUI by Teaman. There's also a web GUI to configure and monitor active connections to the PPTP server.


- Minor multiLAN/wireless bugfixes

- MultiSSID: fixes saving WL VIF settings when net mode is 'n-only' (5GHz radios)

- Syslogd custom path improvements - rc:
preserve /var/log/messages if it's a file at syslogd restart
if we have a custom path set, check if it's a symlink (and remove/recreate it if necessary)
- PPTP Server for Tomato (Ext, VPN Builds) - by Teaman
this commit possibly introduces some bugs, but here we go!
this version allows up to 6 IPs/users/concurrent connections (ppp4-ppp9)
broadcast relay has been included on the webUI, but hasn't been thoroughly tested
- PPTPD: MPPE and compile bugfixes (batch #1)
attempt to fix some random decryption errors causing connections to become unusable. Clients had to disconnect/reconnect manually to fix the problem once it started to happen. The issue seems to be related with some parameters/settings being negotiated between clients and the PPTP server. Hopefully, these changes should prevent these problems from happening. See commit 3ef7e67858ecff04caf8197e381fa8b7c68c668e. Also, this commit should fix some build/compilation issues when merging this code into other branches
- PPTPD: move webUI pages into 'VPN Tunneling' menu

Yes i have tried it as well. I reinstall the software just using the printer connected to my PC by USB. It works. Then when i plug into the router and set everything again, still no show.
