Did a dirty upgrade on my AX86U last night. No problems so far. Thanks for all your support RMerlin.

I tried comparing the 256 Hash values from the AX88U folder after download from source forge and they don't match can someone please check it for me to confirm? Sorry. My error. :p

In the release thread for 3004.388.8_2 there were a number of posts regarding issues with the jffs partition when dirty-upgrading from 3004.388.7. That put me off and I skipped that one - wondering if anyone is having the same issue going from 388.7 to 388.8_4. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I'm new here but I regularly use your firmware for Asus routers - thanks for your great work.👍👍👍

But I have a question, are there differences between the Asuswrt-Merlin and Asuswrt-Merlin ROG firmware 🤔? or is it just the skin of the GUI. Thank you very much for answer.

Just the user interface. Functionality is fully identical.

so no rog any longer for all 3 of my routers 1600 1100 and 1100 pro.. bummer i explictely using links in that interface.. guess no more updates for me.

Dirty update to my GT-AX6000 and RT-AX86U Pro nodes. Running fine.
I did try to upload the RT-AX86U non-Pro firmware to my Pro routers, twice, and was wondering why the version didn't change. LOL. It's heck getting old and not paying attention to those little pesky details.

As always Merlin, thanks!

It got skipped because the 3006 firmwares were compiled at the same time, and ROG image building is disabled for 3006. Nobody reported it during the test stage, so it got skipped again during the final build run.

I'll think about it, but it's unlikely to happen since a lot of manual work would be required to do that. Unlike the regular build process, this cannot be automated and I would have to manually do it for every ROG models, plus manually publishing everything to download mirrors and the website.

I have the GT-AX11000. I also noticed the the ROG fie missing. Based on your response in the forum, I guess you wont be adding it until another future update. I'll keep what I got until then. I appreciate your efforts. They are much appreciated in the community.

All working smoothly with my setup as already reported by many others but I just wanted to say a special thanks for keeping the RT-AX56U alive. Some appreciation to be donated too :)

I was one of those affected. I would assume, as there's no major changes from 388.8_2 the jump from 388.7 may behave in the same way.
Only one way to find out I guess (bite the bullet).

Updated my GT-AX6000 and working fine.

Only thing is: External USB disk not mounting. It's just me that not mount or are more people have same problem???

I thought this mod "Report local and public IP for Wireguard Clients" would be in this software.
Thank you for new build(s)
@RMerlin
I just upgraded to this firmware and the mount issue has been there for awhile now. You will have to unplug and replug after first reboot.

with the upgrade 3004.388.8_4 in 86u pro I have a serious problem with the kill switch.
and generally with openvpn tcp.

Accept DNS Configuration = exclusive
Redirect Internet traffic through tunnel = vpn-director
Killswitch = yes

some times the router after restart or pppoe disconnection the vpn client(openvpn / tcp) does not connect and the Killswitch is useless with the result that the all devices uses wan ip
