Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8_4 is now available

Unless something was changed recently - routing uses single core.

I have this problem occasionally. Restarting the router often helps, but not always.

Given the frequency of the disconnects you may have an intermittent fault with the usb cable/port/ssd. Have you tried usb2.0 mode?

I tried physically removing the flash drive from the USB. I did not try changing the USB3 mode to USB2.

Sorry, I already have USB2.

Those messages indicate that you have an unsupported USB modem connected to your router. Is that the case?

I flashed 388.4 over the earlier 388.2 two days ago.
The issue with my 2.4GHz TP_link devices falling off the network has gotten severely worse.
Fine, I figured I'd just go to the GUI, and either downgrade bacvk to 388.2, or perhaps save the configuration, factory reset, and restore configuration again.

Huh? The GUI is missing all of the menu entries for configuring things. No Administration menu or anything.

Or am I just looking in the wrong place? The "Advanced Settings" heading has only "System Log" and "Network Tools".

EDIT: Found it. AdBlocker was destroying half the UI. Nuked the AdBlocker, got GUI back.

Note this is one of the ROG RT-AX86U versions. Is there an NVRAM setting to select the non-ROG style webUI pages?

Yup, found it while you were writing. Somehow had TWO adblocker extensions installed, and I don't remember installing the second one. Nuked it. Works now. Thanks.

That is the reason for those messages. They're nothing to do with the JetFlash drive.
Ok, thanks. Why don't these messages appear after another reboot of the router? For example, the log is now clean. Is the problem in the USB modem?

Hello,
I have an ASUS RT-AXU88 router running 3004.388.8_4 firmware.
I tried to use VPN servers, but it works defective to me, for example:
-WireGuard VPN: The QR code is not visible and if you export the configuration file, the WGS_Client.CONF configuration file is empty ...
-OpenVPN: The settings are not reflected in the generated configuration file, any changes they make in the OpenVPN settings. For example, I modified the port value in 34925, in the file with settings the port remained 1194.
What is the cause and how can the problem be solved?
Thanks

Are you accessing your router's GUI through the local network? Or are you accessing it from the WAN (internet/broadband) side? If you are accessing from the WAN side how are you doing so? Using VPN or have you enabled the WAN GUI access?
Have you tried a different web browser? And or temporarily disabled any browser addon's/extentions?

I accessed the router through the WAN GUI - HTTPS.
I tried with 3 browsers - Firefox, Chrome and Edge and the router behaves the same.
Chrome and Edge are clean because I don't use them, but Firefox doesn't have extensions installed either...

In another location I have an Asus GT-AC2900 and I have no problems with the VPN. I access it with the same Firefox browser...

While patiently awaiting (fingers crossed) the Merlin 3006.x release for the RT-AX86U Pro, I decided to check out the Asus Router Android app. Nice. Perhaps I overlooked the Privacy details when installing it and after several days decided to click WITHDRAW in the Administration section of the router. This entry then showed up in the log: Mastiff: Got AAE_SIG_REMOTE_CONNECTION_TURNED_ON
Should that say OFF instead?
