Howdy folks,

For the main list of changes in 378.50, please see the first beta thread.

This thread is for the 378.50 Beta 2 release. Thanks to everyone's feedback with beta 1 a number of issues were found and resolved. Here's the list of changes over Beta 1:

Code:
378.50 Beta 2 (31-Jan-2015)
   - NEW: Added custom config and postconf support for avahi, netatalk
          and mt-daapd (iTunes server).
   - CHANGED: Moved the AC68U CFE update process to the same location
as in GPL 3626 to see if it works more consistently.
   - FIXED: Non-DPI build of AC56U had incompatible Tuxera modules
   - FIXED: vsftpd wouldn't start if you had IPv6 enabled.
   - FIXED: Asus had disabled the NAT loopback fix on MIPS's iptables
            in GPL 3762. Re-enabled.
   - FIXED: Wireless clients that hadn't communicated in a while wouldn't
be properly shown on the Wireless log (patch by pinwing)
   - FIXED: QoS rules weren't applied properly when IPv6 was enabled
(was changed in recent GPL - reverted it)
   - FIXED: Can't apply a Custom DDNS if you don't have something entered
in the username/password fields (shown in other DDNS services)
   - FIXED: NFS page wasn't properly loading

In addition, a fix was applied to the System page where Internet Explorer users wouldn't see the additionnal JFFS options until they toggled the JFFS partition off/on.

All supported models are currently available on Mediafire in the Beta folders. Also, an experimental DPI-enabled build for the RT-AC56U has been uploaded (with a version label of 378.50-beta2_dpi).

Please post your feedback and bug reports here. Don't forget to mention your router model.

A factory default reset is only required if you were not already running 378.50 beta 1.

Downloads are here.
Changelog is here.

Thanks,
Does this fix the problems i have with connecting two drives?

I still had problems with two drives attached. in the beta 1
I've a Raid NTFS drive on the USB3.0 (just use to store date for the network and Samba access).
When i also connect an usb stick to USB2.0 (used for HTTP and cloud).
then the USB3 drive reports errors (and cannot be fixed) in this config.

The drive contains already 3Tb data, and i cannot (temp) store them somewhere.
btw, I use a RT-AC68U.

Updated my RT-AC66U without a hitch. My RT-AC87U fails to start samba:

It seems to be in the Beta folder for the RT-N66.

Merlin is probably pulling out his hair :) Thanks for all the good work, Merlin!

Thank you very much for this release Merlin...

One thing though... I can't seem to be able to enable NAT Acceleration... on RT-AC87R... when I select "auto" the router applies the setting and reboots but the option still shows in "disable" state right after... is this expcted?

Cheers,

Dragster

Some features will force it to disabled as they aren't compatible with it. That's why that setting is called "Auto" and not "Enable".

I just moved it.

OK, thanks for your reply Merlin. What features could be forcing it to be disabled?

Thank you,

D.

Hi Merlin, it seems I found a bug on AC68U with beta2: if I set some settings General tab on Wireless area (I set the language in Italian), after I apply the setting and the page reloads automatically, I cannot select the band anymore since the selector is gone. Reloading the page fix the problem. This didn't occur with 49.5. I reset all the settings

EDIT: In professional tab, it happens after I set for example 2,4GHz settings, then I select the 5GHz band and just after the page load, the band selector is gone. I reload manually the page and it re-appears

I may have missed something here, but in the last Beta Builds i have lost the option that allows you to have to separate MAC Filtering Lists for both 2.4 and 5Ghz Bands?

Regards

Beta 2 working well for me on RT-AC68U in AP mode although the Network Map/Clients display is still incorrect (as per Beta1).

I can check the wireless counts against the number of devices shown in the SystemLog/Wireless log. The count matches that log but the actual Map/Clients display does not include some connected devices.

All else appears to be good.

Yes, it seems is gone

I did this update to my 2nd AC68u today, it didn't update the bootloader again.

I saw this in my system log "Kernel: Dead loop on virtual device vlan2, fix it urgently!"

Anyone with the same message? I'm using AC87U btw. Thanks

RT-AC68U_3.0.0.4_378.50_beta2, hard reset.

1. If SSID is hide, Site Survey scan (Scan Mode - Active) is not worked.

2. After save any WiFi settings changes, I can`t see WiFi frequency Group settings box.
Before hide SSID:

After hide SSID:

3. ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.3813:
3G / LTE
1. Supported Huawei E161, E3131, E171
2. Supported ZTE MF880, MF823, MF821D
3. Supported Royaltek Q110
Asuswrt-Merlin RT-AC68U_3.0.0.4_378.50_beta2 is not support MF823:

4. If delete MAC-address from MAC-filter, and then add MAC-address, instead MAC-name I see MAC-address in all MAC table.

P.S. Sorry for my English.

Is it possible to go over 100mv signal power on AC87U?
Unfortunately, this maximum value can't cover my area as Netgear R7000 did once.
