Thanks for the help :)

Luckily a friend of mine in different location used the ancient, long forgotten technology of download accelerators and fetched it for me, should have it in few mins :)

Yeah Media Fire is terrible for me, really slow and get speeds of 10kbps on a 80 meg connection

When I enable URL-filter, I lost my IPv6 connectivity (RT-N66U, 6rd). If I disable URL-filter, it works again, enable again and IPv6 lost again.

When URL-filter is disabled my laptop shows in IPv6 log page, but when I enable URL-filter it disappears.

Hasn't anyone else experienced this problem?

I'm generally pretty good at this kind of thing (and it was working under tomato, and other HW before the Asus, I've done it before.)

Any non-obvious (or even obvious) reason it might not pass 27030:27039 TCP, 27000:27015 and 1200 UDP? Seems straight forward, tried multiple times, resets, different ways of specifying them (actually don't need the whole range, so did explicit ports.)

Seem in DMZ with no firewall, there should be no possible way to screw it up.

FWIW, inside the LAN, works as expected.

Since even DMZ doesn't work, that means either the ports are being blocked ahead of your router (for example by your modem if it's not bridged), or by your application's security design (which might be rejecting connections coming from a public IP).

I have a lot of this, and I know it's reported problem, 378_50_ta.
On one router 378_50 and no such behave.

I'm using vlan10 on iptv, internet VID 10 prio 0

Long-standing issue with the DPI engine, so far Asus has been unable to address it.

Cascading Router

First of all Merlin, let me thank you for all the help and great firmware you have given us.

Now, if I have some other cascading Router from a RT-AC87U, firmware 378.50, do any or all of these options work (transfer)to the Cascaded Router?

Thanks.-

Could anyone compare the new wifi performance to the old 374.43 build (and older ones)?
Thanks.

Might help if you specified for which of the 6 supported routers you are talking about, as they all use different drivers ;)

This release has fixed a great many issues for me, and i know that Asus and Merlin have been working hard on this error:

Feb 7 22:46:09 kernel: br0: received packet on vlan1 with own address as source address
Feb 7 22:47:04 kernel: br0: received packet on vlan1 with own address as source address
Feb 7 22:47:48 kernel: br0: received packet on vlan1 with own address as source address

However in my case it hasn't gone, but what was interesting, i didn't have the error with the current Asus firmware ending .3885

Regards

3885 contained a fix attempt, which created far more serious issues (for instance, anything that required name resolution done on the router was failing). So Asus has reverted the "fix" after 3885.

AC56U, updated from Beta 2, factory reset, restored manually all the settings, it has been working great for the last 10 hours, with all the AiSecurity settings turned on.

There is a bug: whenever I go to the Traffic Analyzer page, that stalls the asuswrt webpage; Internet works fine, but I cannot access the router anymore via the configuration page, it's accessible only via telnet. Works fine after a reboot, as long as I don't go to that Traffic page again!

Make sure you have the JFFS2 partition enabled, as Traffic Analyzer uses it to store its database.

Will any improvements be noticeable on the AC66U since it won't get the TA?

There are nearly three pages of changes and bugfixes in 378.50 versus 376.49_5, so yes, there are definitely a lot of changes for the AC66U - read the changelog for details.

Call me crazy but for my RT-AC87 the RT-AC87U_3.0.0.4_378.50_beta3b_ta firmware runs faster than the released .50. Also you have the traffic analyzer.

Merlin whats the exact difference between the released and this version. It is based on same code correct?

Ran the released version and returned to the beta version and it is running perfectly.

No code change at all. beta3b was compiled right after I merged 4129 in.

Any chances for alternative hosting? mediafire gives <5kBps transfer rate...

EDIT: it gives 0kpbs speed, downloading the FW is simply impossible, maybe any donators link?

Must have been a temporary or an ISP issue, because for most people it downloads at pretty high speed (it maxes out my 30 Mbits connection here).

Firmware downloads generate 500-700 GB of traffic per month. I can't put these files just anywhere, so I'm paying for the file locker that gave the best performance when I looked for one. Other file lockers are plagued with ads, even slower speeds (capping at 30/50 KB/s for downloaders without an account), Captcha and other unwanted critters.

Now, if I have some other cascading Router from a RT-AC87U, firmware 378.50, do any or all of these options work (transfer)to the Cascaded Router?

No idea, you will have to try. I suspect that some of the AiProtection features might work, but others won't.

Bootloader Version Confirmation

Is 1.0.2.0 the new correct bootloader for the RT-AC68U after upgrade to 3.0.0.4.378.50?

Thanks

I will try this later on when I install the Cascading router if I the NEW RT-AC87U does not reach that end of the house.

Another one....

I Just replaced a RT-N66U for the AC87U. We have cameras that worked fine on the N66U on using both the internal 192.168.10.152 and though the Static IP xx.xxx.xx.xx:8152.

Now I can't get the cameras through the Static IP address to come up. I have looked evreywhere (~enable the Web access from WAN 8080) with no avail.

The new AC87U has some different features that I have to get used to, could you please point me in a direction on why the cameras are not coming up through the Static IP?

Thanks again,:)

Regards.-

Would you be willing to provide torrent links to the downloads on your website? I for one would seed them. Something to think about maybe :)

Only thing I can think of off my head is port forwarding, try going to canyouseeme.org in the port you use. If it fails you will need to go to the wan section in your router and open the port to the camera's IP.

So if I upgrade from 376.49_5 to one of the 50 betas, then upgrade to the final release, I don't need to perform a factory default reset?

RT-N66U

Hi!
I am connected to the ISP Beeline Sankt-Petersburg, Russia.
Firmware RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_376.47_0 works without problems.
All other firmware (RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_376.48_1, RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_376.48_3, RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_376.49_0, RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_376.49_2, RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_376.49_4, RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_376.49_5, RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_378.50_0)
does not establish a connection with the error:
Too many retransmissions on tunnel (---/---); closing down

So if I upgrade from 376.49_5 to one of the 50 betas, then upgrade to the final release, I don't need to perform a factory default reset?

RT-N66U

NO NO, NO

Just for the fun of it....

Factory reset after upgrading the firmware.

Start fresh, typing in your settings, just like the router came out of the box.
