I was going to post how local addresses didn't work anymore.

Well i was wrong, just installed beta2 after some updates of the local dns servers etc, all seems to be fine.
Thanks again.

Does this beta 2 still have the battery drain issue and is the 5ghz band useable at all with this?

378.56 is based on the 9177 release from Asus, so any wireless-related issue will be the same.

Are those with NTP sync issues using an OpenVPN client?

There's something special in your configurations, because so far only a handful of specific users are having issues, and I can't reproduce them at all here.

I would thank Merlin for having added the possibility to put 64 entries max on MAC list for guest networks, managing the same list of the same dimension (64 entries max) for both main and guest networks. Although, I have to point the attention on the fact that ASUS probably would have handled the 2 lists (the main Wireless MAC list and the guest ones) separately: otherwise it would be pointless having a main list of 64 entries and the guest one of 16 entries only.

They are intended to be on separate lists. Adding a new entry on a Guest network creates an nvram setting specific to that guest subunit (wl0.1 = 2.4 GHz first guest network):

Code:
wl0.1_maclist_x=<80:80:11:22:33:44

However the feature is simply broken, as the new nvram setting disappears after a few seconds. I'll let Asus debug it on their own, I don't feel like studying that section of the code right now (I've never looked at it before, and since like the rest it's spread all over the place with no comments, we're talking a few hours of time required there...).

Unable to connect to WAN after update to beta 2 (from .55).

I am using the ISP Profile Singtel-Others (where the VLAN on port 4 is 20 for the IPTV).

Link is detected on WAN on Tools page (1000mbps full duplex) but WAN always says Disconnected.

Rolling back to .55 now.

Did you do a factory default reset after flashing 378.56 beta 2?

me too, what extras do you have running? Do you have entware installed etc?

As someone having the issue on beta one suggested, clearing the wan dns settings and re-inserting them enabled ntp to sync, however I am an hour out due to daylight saving.

Manually set the start/end DST times on the System page. Asus's old uclibc has an outdated database.

VPN still broken in french sorry :( (PPTP/L2TP) not loading ,JS console said again " SyntaxError: missing ; before statement ", sorry i cant help , i dont know anything on JS script

Different page, this time it's in Asus's code. I implemented a workaround for now, but the real fix would be for Asus to ensure that the apostrophes are properly escaped in the various language files that might be using one.

How do I fix my router time on rt-ac87r? It is a hour off. I tried the suggestion above about setting the start/end time and it didn't work.

This would explain what I see with the QOS settings and the VPN Client traffic getting restricted to the value I put into my upload speed instead of the download.

Yeah, on my RT-AC68U, while the upload/download in the Real-time traffic monitor are correct, the 24-hour and daily entries have upload/download swapped. On the 24-hour page, the Ethernet (WAN) has them swapped while the Wired tab has them correct. On the Real-time page, both the Ethernet (WAN) and Wired upload/download colors match.

I am not using a VPN.

Actually, it might be somehow combining them. Happens even with NAT Acceleration disabled. Here's an image: http://i.imgur.com/ZrJfGSs.png

Also have the ntp issue on my AC66U, as with Beta 1:

Code:
Oct 18 22:21:59 hour monitor: daemon is starting
Oct 18 22:21:59 hour monitor: ntp is not syn

I reported this temporary fix after I had the issue when upgrading to beta1. This morning I had the same after upgrading to beta2. The fix I suggested worked once again.

This is what showed in syslog at the time I changed wan dns settings, the first 2 lines are the error that was repeating every 30 seconds.

Jul 31 21:06:12 ntp: start NTP update
Oct 18 07:39:13 rc_service: ntp 843:notify_rc restart_upnp

The last line shows the time is corrected.

I tried the WAN DNS Settings fix as well to work around the ntp issue. Seems to help!

However, I also got the 1 hour time difference, that I had to fix by logging in with putty and using the date command.

Just installed beta 2 and ntp is now synced on my AC56U. I don't use a vpn client.

assuming you're in the US, DST end should be set to 11 month 1st Sun (Nov, 1). DST start is already correct, 3 month 2nd Sun (March, 8).
Setting to that fixed it for me.

I have an AC68U. This issue started about a week ago, before I installed the beta. Every night at about 9:30 my router would lock up. All lights on the router and modem would flash as normal. I would have to unplug the router and modem and then let the router cycle up before plugging in the modem. Yesterday it did it a couple of times in one day, so I upgraded to the beta. Then it did it again a few hours later, so I restored to factory defaults. It then locked up within an hour. I don't think it would be a router issue, but it doesn't make sense that something external to the router would cause it to lock up. On this last reboot I have the log level set to debug and to log all entries. Is there a remote server to send it to? Any ideas or help?

While NTP seems to be fixed for me, the native binaries for dnscrypt seem to be ignored in a way. The log shows the usual messages about getting certificates and all that, but my resolution seems to be going to Google or Cisco regardless. On a related note, I had a hell of a time reestablishing my VPN connection with Perfect Privacy. And even then I'm not sure what I did to finally get it to connect. Now that I am connected, again, DNS seems to go to Google or Cisco regardless of what DNS setting I've chosen (disabled, relaxed, strict, exclusive). While trying to resolve my outgoing VPN issues I abandoned the dnscrypt part of my setup as to not throw too many things in the stew. Lastly, I am completely unable connect to my router as an OpenVPN host. My AC3200 indicates that the server is running, but my client never seems to get a response. The log doesn't show any errors or denials, etc.
