Ok - I figured out what the other devices are they are my security cameras on DHCP but don't have a proper hostname and previously I configured them as Static but they are getting carried over somehow. Anyone know how to reset the Static Client List / Mac tables or put them in sync?
Wait for their existing leases to expire. When it gets renewed, the router will see that they are dynamic (which it cannot know yet, all it saw is those devices already had an IP after it booted).

OK - thanks a bunch for the reply! Can I force expiration/rewnewal in any way (script or otherwise?) It's probably not hurting anything just annoying. :-/

Found out a couple of interesting things today playing with this firmware. The older version Nest thermostats don't seem to want to connect to the only Band they can see (2.4Ghz) unless Preamble Type is set to "Short". Prior to that, it would not connect or it would say incorrect password no matter how many times I reset, rebooted it and reconfigured network. SSID's were also new names.

Second oddity I am seeing which I can't explain and seems to have SEVERE network performance impacts are, I am getting a crap ton of these in the logs:

I also tried it with NAT Acceleration disabled and enabled with no difference on this message. My Bands 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz have different SSID's. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this error?

Last item, anyone have any thoughts on Asus RT-AC5300? I'm having a lot of disconnects with wifi recently and suspect I burnt something out somehow... thinking of upgrading and am curious if anyone has feedback on this model.

For a senior member, you don't seem to be very helpful. So -- I've searched the forum, and have tried some of the things suggested in asus support (I'm not using a bridged connection or wifi extender), google (like I mentioned disabling NAT and changing SSID) and and searched forum but didn't find any answers that seemed to work. It also seems this log entry has reared its head for nearly 2 years on various routers. I have read "That router has some issues passing BPDU packets across the wired network" and on DD-WRT forum "You can create a cron job that will remove those messages from the syslog every 15 minutes by adding this command to the startup commands" - which I'd rather find a solution for than just delete the entries as it's likely tied to my connectivity issues. Since my connectivity is shoddy at best - it is a little difficult to be as thorough as you expect as I am constantly getting disconnected in between searches, but apologize if you think I didn't do a "little" due diligence and land on the post that had the answer which you mentioned.

My issues seemed to start after this version update (although I was using a much older version before this release) I also found a recent posting where Merlin asked a user to try a couple of things which didn't work. So it was a little indicative that even "the man" himself wasn't sure the exact cause. I have spent over a week on connectivity problems every evening after work and weekend, in my closet - and this log seems to have some impact. This is why I have posted, so if you have a working answer that would be nice if you could share.

Thank you sir - that's what I needed to know, that there is no fix for now. I've read before that Asus may need to resolve, and also something about broadcom drivers need to change to address it as well. I also read where some have went in SSH and changed the VLan MAC address and it reduced the frequency. Really appreciate the confirmation, and I'll be on the lookout for future fixes. At least I know now I can stop searching and I can assume my growing network problems could be related. Strange that it didn't happen before with OEM firmware when the Logitech Wireless Network Adapters had a static (mac assigned IP), now it's going haywire and network connection is erratic on all bands. Nexus 5 wont stay connected but probably related to the beamforming I read about. I've ordered the Asus RC-AC5300, and Motorola SB6183 - hopefully won't be plagued with the same connectivity problems. Thanks again.
 
I just updated my RT-AC66U and now I'm not able to select chanel any more. It just return to automatic.
 
Is anyone having issues issues with stability?

Every 2 to 3 days my RT-AC87U stops working completely. The log shows, that the date is set to Aug 1 and somewhat stuck then.

Do a factory default reset, and manually reconfigure your router in case you might have some nvram corruption.

Thanks for the answer. Done it on both router but still example the ip-adress and other data is lost after a reboot. (note I have two Asus RT-AC3200). Also the menu in left column stop show after some time which force me to reboot and then some data in the settings is lost and ip-adress + first dns is among of those always lost but not dns2

I recently tried to switch to RMerlin's build from Shibby's Tomato and I had a little trouble. From Shibby v132 I couldn't flash RMerlin 378.56_2 I got the error "bad trx header." I tried 378.56 as well, same result, although 378.55 did flash correctly. From there I could upgrade to the latest.

My first guess is that your USB drive id becoming unavailable or is un-mounted. As a temporary measure try putting the log back into memory and see how long the router is able to run. What other customizations have you done?

This is usually caused by a network client using an invalid name (for example, a name containing quotes). If you open your web browser's error console and check the Javascript line with an error, you should see it.

I can't see any clients with " in their name and also it would be impossible for us to control the clients names as wifi is open for 300 persons who play around. And this error should not appear when a user with this error is offline right but it stay permanent until reboot. The only error I see is following:

And this still not explain the other and more important error that it lose settings after reboot.
+ I have some error on both Asus router so its something wrong on our side? memory problem or something I forgot or done wrong when installed?

The problem I see is that when NAT Loopback is being used (both Asus or Merlin) CPU1 load peaks 100% and maximum speed with gigabit NAS is 46 MB/s. So when I use NAS with local IP (192....) I get about 105-110 MB/s and in case I use external IP (176...) from the same local network maximum speed is 46 MB/s as I have mentioned before.
Is it some hardware limitation or firmware bug?

The NAT loopback bypasses NAT acceleration, so NAT is then done by the CPU, hence the high load.
