I have an AX88U as main node and 3 x Lyra Mini mesh nodes. Stable so far with AX88U on Merlin 384.19 and Lyra's on stock 384_46249.

Main reason for upgrade will be guest support on nodes. Can I get this now, is the new FW available for Lyra also?

Many thanks!

Only issue /I have is that my Synology (link aggregated) no longer agreed with dhcp, I worked with a manual address though. Any thoughts? Rebooted router and unify managed switch. Worked flawless under 314.19?

I had trouble setting up AIMesh today, after trying everything suggested in this forum I still couldn't find my node(AC68U). After a long thought about my process, I figured the problem may be that the access point I want to change into a node needs to be set as a router again before reset to factory defaults. Any further opinions and thoughts appreciated.

You can download the Asus Firmware Restoration tool in the App Store.
Good to know. I have installed that app just in case I need it in the future.

FWIW, I did a full reset on my router. After that I was able to upload the new release firmware.

Then it took a while to manually configure all my settings. Glad I downloaded the VPN server cert stuff, that meant I could upload it after the reset and update and not have to change or re-issue the .ovpn files for my client devices.

I think I have everything configured properly now, including my ad hoc DNS based ad and tracker blocker that needs some files in jffs

nvram and jffs are a lot less full than before the full reset and upgrade. I guess I had a bunch of cruft in there that was causing issues.

I had the same issue with my Nas. Had to set a static IP.

Is it only me or has the Web Gui always been like this?

I have great results with AImesh on Rt-AX58U main and 2 RT-AX58U nodes BUT all the iphones and Samsung note 10+ are set now to phone mac (Samsung) and have Private Mac address (Iphones) turned off.
Yep I have the private Mac off. Running the AP has always worked well for me so I don’t feel I’m missing much with Aimesh.

I upgraded yesterday and quickly noticed a bump in CPU temperature. About 9ºC higher on average with an active cooling.

There was no actual demand change.

Before updating it was lower and more stable.

Make sure WPS is turned on sometimes its not start. Its needed to no pair master with node(s). Turn it off when its used. Gld.

Did a dirty update yesterday from 384.19 to 386.1. Took an hour for GUI to appear after login, be patient. Cleared my browser cache. Worked fine for about 16 hours, then WAN access stopped. Did hard resets on all 3 devices and reconfigured (RT-AC86-U with two RT-AC68U AiMesh nodes). Basic vanilla setup, no extras. Stable so far today, fingers crossed.

Note: Donated a few bucks to RMerlins's tip jar, hope others do the same in support of this awesome product! Not sure what percentage of his time he spends on this, but it must occupy his head a lot. Plus taking some arrows for ASUS issues he has no control over.

hello to all
dirty upgrade. everything seems to be good so far. except for a couple issues:

*log is getting bombarded with

RT-AC68U:
- router homepage (index.asp) would randomly lock up/unresponsive after login, have to kill the tab and try again.
- this was during ~1 day uptime dirty upgrade, then ~2 days fact. reset. till now.

I can’t even read this thread anymore. Drives me nuts. I don’t even know why I’m posting this. Call me crazy. o_O

EDIT: I’m over-invested in this forum and don’t adequately appreciate the onslaught of users who only appear when a new release occurs, missing all the previous alpha and beta discussions.

Raphie,
I have a Synology DS918+ connect to LAN Port 1 & 2 of my RT-AX88U. After reading your post, I decided to turn ON "Bonding / Link Aggregation" . It seem to be working. (So that you get one more data point). Hope you resolve your issue soon.

Thank you, these were precisely my thoughts as well. Where were all of these people before?
Enough already with the temperature reports (that only affected one model in fact), and was already discussed at length in the Beta thread. For those who still want to talk about that one (non-issue), please move it to a new topic.

I'm sorry for being a newbie and don't have the expertise and equipment/environment to play with alpha/beta releases. Thank you for your investment.
