I'm running the DPI version of the AC56U firmware and for the life of me, I cannot get 80mhz active on the 5ghz network. I have tried all the settings combinations, AUTO, N/AC MIXED, 80MHZ, 20/40/80MHZ. Someone mind posting their successful settings.

Does the router itself report 80Mhz on the wireless log? Mine for example says:
Code:
	Chanspec: 5GHz channel 42 80MHz (0xe02a)
	Primary channel: 36
But I cannot really test if it works, only have 802.11n devices.

It does not. It shows 20MHz
Code:
Chanspec: 5GHz channel 165 20MHz (0xd0a5)
	Primary channel: 165

My settings:
Wireless Mode = N/AC Mixed
Channel Bandwidth = 80mhz
Control Channel = Auto
Extension Channel = Auto

Try lower your channel 165 2 steps, There is not enough space for 80Mhz channel.

Has the broken system page been fixed by ASUS or you in this release?

It was broken? What exactly was broken? I'm using official latest firmware AC68U(3.0.0.4.378.3873). I'm planning to switch to Merlin when the new one goes out of beta.

It seems to be working fine though.

EDIT: Saw that it has to do with the password change field, but when i tried changing password, it went fine :S
EDIT2: Did a factory reset to see if that changed anything.. but nope still working fine.

Guess i have a different router? :S

I just noticed that more channels are available to my AC56U with this beta for the 5GHz spectrum. Before I could only use the first few double digit channels, now everything is available up to channel 140!

Due to different version of bootloader, are overclock allowed on AC68U with .50 firmware?

Currently I'm with clkfreq=1000,800 setting. Have I to do downclock to regular MHz before update?

I have done some more testing on my AC56U, even though all the new 5ghz channels show as available, I'm only able to set the router to 36 or 165. No other channels stick when applied :(

Strange, selected at random channel 112, worked, tried 40, worked.

Guys, this might be a silly question any probably the wrong place to ask it but I don't know a more appropriate place:

I'm currently running the latest 49 firmware and was thinking of doing the flashing to this one. I was wondering if enabling adaptive QoS will make a difference in my setup. I currently have a 500Mbps down/25Mbps up cable connection and was wondering if QoS can make a difference with those 500Mbps seeing as I hardly ever saturate that bandwidth. Is the loss of CPU power by enabling adaptive QoS be in anyway compensated by any QoS advantage?

After testing several times, in the end the AdaptiveQoS_Bandwidth_Monitor.asp page is inconsistent for me, the bandwidth bars don't always work, the javascript console shows these:
Code:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot set property 'innerHTML' of null AdaptiveQoS_Bandwidth_Monitor.asp:596
calculate_traffic AdaptiveQoS_Bandwidth_Monitor.asp:855
$j.ajax.success jquery.js:3
x.Callbacks.c jquery.js:3
x.Callbacks.p.fireWith jquery.js:5
k jquery.js:5
x.ajaxTransport.send.r jquery.js:5
This is with Chrome, no better results with IE 11 or Firefox, cleared cache several times too.

If you have a model that can use the dpi engine, which means it can use the adaptive QoS, you can use it with hardware acceleration enabled, so no loss of CPU power there.

Yeah, I was thinking that just now. I have a AC68U and adaptive QoS can work with hardware NAT so there shouldn't be a power loss. O guess I'll give it a try. I'm thinking maybe that even though it will not be any helpful in prioritizing download traffic is should do at least some good for upload, as that's only 25Mbps and I very often max it out.

RT-AC68U in AP mode (with some fixed DHCP addresses).

I have found that, in the Client Status screen, the Wired and Wireless heading counts do not always match the actual number of displayed wired and wireless devices. On some occasions, the counts actually show negative numbers eg. "Wired(-3)".

Not a big deal but hopefully something that can be resolved prior to formal release of this version. No other issues found with this release.

I get this with the stock f/w 3.0.0.4.378_3873 (cfe 1.0.2.0 EU) so I don't think it is anything RMerlin has done.

Have you reset to factory defaults and manually enter only the necessary settings to secure the router / wifi and connect to your ISP?

Have you used a new ssid?
I did the factory reset yes, necessary settings as change from stock ssid to my old one, nothing more was done. i did however fint it hard to connect the first 10minutes, dont know why but eventually it connected.
I certainly understand the reason that a factory reset is necessary after this upgrade, and don't mind re-entering my configuration manually, even the 15 or so static DNS entries I have. But a new SSID, requiring me to go around to every single client and reset the SSID/PW combination? Why would that be necessary? Sure hoping its not...

thanks for the explanation! but why 3.0.0.4.378.3873 works fine? Is there a different file system driver on your build?

Depending on the router model and the specific filesystem, yes, it might be different from Asus.

@RMerlin Good Moning from Germany

Why HW acceleration Enabled (CTF only) ?

I don't understand your question there...

ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.3813 and 3.0.0.4.378.3873 supported ZTE MF823 LTE modem but Asuswrt-Merlin 378.50 Beta1 has no this modem in list USB Adapter. Please add.

I'm using exactly the same code as Asus there, I haven't changed anything.

Mine either have not change CFE 1018 => 1020.
I found in folder, /rom/cfe 3st CFE:s.
cfe_1.0.2.0.bin
cfe_1.0.2.0_esmt.bin
cfe_tmo_2.1.2.2.bin
and mtd-write (newest one v3).
If I look inside cfe_1.0.2.0.bin ccode=US which should been loaded I can se some default mac and secret code.
So something went wrong when trying to change CFE.

Octopus

Those are just generic CFEs images. The update process will recopy your other settings when updating the flashed CFE. That's what the various cfe update entries mean in the log posted earlier by someone.

The bug in recent 378_3xxx builds from Asus is that if there is no DST setting configured yet, the System Page fails to load properly, aborting with a Javascript error.
