I flashed 378.50 on my RT-AC68U and everything is working fine except for one thing.

I had a WD Passport HD on USB3, which is now not recognized anymore.
It works OK on USB2, though.

Wireless => professional=>Reducing USB 3.0 interference
Is it "Disable" ? otherwise usbport is in usb2 mode.

NAT loopback (attempting to access a LAN server from the LAN, using the WAN address) doesn't seem to work with this firmware. Flashed back to 376.49_5 and it is working again.

Using an AC66u
Having the same issue. Turning of NAT acceleration solved it though.

So usb connection keeps shutting down as always, to round this one can use doubble wan to keep it reconnecting?

but when i activate doubble wan i cant access the internets.. ac68 tells me that im connected but nothing happens.

Ok, possible bug found: When using the traditional QoS there are no ip6tables rules generated for the ipv6 mangle table at all! IPv6 is completely ignored. For the ipv4 only ppl this is irrelevant but my ISP provides me with native IPv6 for 2 years now, can't ignore this bug.

Hi, new here. Just upgraded to the beta and it's been stable for me. I saw this post and thought I should report what I have found with Comcast.

I have the RT-AC87U. It just arrived today. I loaded this firmware and did a factory reset. I enabled IPv6 using:

Native
enable "DHCP-PD"
Autoconfiguration "Stateless"
enable "Connect to DNS Server automatically"
enable "Enable Router Advertisement"
enable "Enable DHCPv6 Server"

IPv6 doesn't seem to work but I had this same trouble with my ASUS RT-N66W router.

I unplugged the modem and plugged it back in. I also unplugged the router and plugged it back in. When I log into the router and check the IPv6 page the IPv6 Lan Settings section is blank. These fields:

LAN IPv6 Address
LAN Prefix Length
LAN IPv6 Prefix

The time or two I was able to get my old router to work it would populate those fields.

This may not be of much use but I thought I would share in case it helps. I assume it's just buggy comcast though.

I woke up this morning to IPv6 working. I didn't change anything, didn't reboot the router or modem, just slept. All good!

Thanks for the firmware Merlin.

Mac filter list merged ?

Captura_32.png

Installed on my RT-N66U. Working well so far, one question though, is the mac filter universal now ? I remember there was a separate list for the 2.4GHz and another one for the 5GHz.

LAN speed issue with QoS enabled.

Router: RT-AC68U

On Wireless clients TX speed gets badly affected (almost -50%) when adaptative QoS is on.

Example: Wifi client sends a file through ftp to the router's hdd or another computer connected by cable.
-Qos enabled: ~4,5-6 MB/s
-Qos disabled: ~11,5-13,5 MB/s

I don't know if it happens too with official firmware.

Here is the answer:
This was deliberately changed by Asus. No idea what was the particular reason, but I saw them write code specifically intended to hide the field, and reproduce the existing MACs into one single list. I can only assume it wasn't working properly.

I actually re-tested it on my AC56U tonight. With my CFE set to the proper US region, I had access to the usual channels, and my Nexus 9 had no problem connecting at about 585 Mbps (the test router was in another room, and lying half-disassembled on its face, so, not the ideal setup).

People with additional channels are probably folks who live in a region (EU) where DFS is available, which unlocks additional channels.

I have additional channels & in usa.

I can connect to the router when it's on auto, auto is ch.157. Just can't change it, if you need anymore info let me know.

So far working well on N-66 as router and on AC-66 as media bridge , have yet to do a factory reset , been 1 day . Transfer rates are up 1 or 2 MBPS over 49.5 .

Thanks for the update, using it on RT-N66U as AP, everything works great except for when I stress the 5 Ghz band as described in the old 376.49 thread, still the same problem, but I see that 378.50 still using 6.30.163.2002 (r382208). So I guess that I have to flash older firmware again, and wait for asus to get some new wl-drivers :(

http://forums.smallnetbuilder.com/showpost.php?p=155489&postcount=51

My RT-N66U don't like to be maxed out on the 5 GHz band anymore, if I transfer files over NFS/SMB/SCP from my NAS to my computer using 5 GHz band the 5 GHz band dies for everyone, all devices timeout. You can still see the SSID but you can't connect to it, when this happens I can still connect to the 2.4 GHz band to access the router. Nothing gets written to syslog/dmesg when this has happened, and to fix it I have to reboot or execute "/sbin/restart_wireless".

Anyone else noticed anything like this when stressing the 5 GHz band heavily? I get the same issue on stock firmware so I dont know if I should blame the 6.30.163.2002 (r382208) driver or my router as the cause.

Tried with two different wireless adapters TP-Link TL-WDN4800 and Asus USB-N53. It only kills the 5 GHz when im stressing the 5GHz band with the TL-WDN4800 (approx 150Mbit/s), feels like the cause is that im not reaching the same high speeds with the Asus USB-N53(approx 110Mbit/s).

Tried to contact Asus Support in my country, too bad they where to no help, just said I should flash the latest firmware, that I already told them that I had on the router.

Anyone got a clue how to fix this, or to troubleshoot it further?

With the newest Merlin and asus firmware a have problem with upload speed in LAN when I set Adaptive QOS to "Upload Bandwidth 0,8 Mb/s
Download Bandwidth 2,5 Mb/s" My upload speed with this parameters to NAS is about 3-7 MB/s but when I change "Upload Bandwidth to 10 Mb/s" it instantly grow up to 40MB/s. I have RT-AC68U.

Yes, this issue keeps popping out and in over the years. For some reason, LAN throughput is sometimes affected by the QoS configuration. I have no idea why, I'm not really an expert on Linux tc.

I have noticed a problem with nat acceleration on: when is on, I can't reach my nas web interface and smb from wifi, but works well on ethernet. Surprised me that I can reach the web interface from wifi only using my asus ddns address.
With nat acceleration off I can reach the web interface and smb from wifi and from ethernet.

For some reason, an iptables patch Asus committed a few months ago to fix NAT loopback issues was recently reverted. The fix is currently on Github and will be reapplied for Beta 2.

Thanks for the feedback (and the rather excellent firmware !!), unfortunately I did try the postconf script for VSFTPD but using listen=NO simply results in VSFTPD not starting as this directive will attempt to run the daemon under inetd on a per connection basis rather than a standalone daemon. I also tried appending listen_ipv6=YES but this results in VSFTPD running but the same "421 Service not available, remote server has closed connection" when attempting to connect from a client. I do not use IPV6 and have this fully disabled

You should obviously only use that fix if you use IPv6. Otherwise, you will indeed end up with having no listen directive at all.

One piece of good news, haven't seen any of these weird messages in my system log using 50_Beta yet:

Dec 3 23:42:29 dnsmasq-dhcp[682]: DHCPSOLICIT(br0) 00:01:00:01:1b:eb:4f:58:44:8a:5b:bc:44:09
Dec 3 23:42:29 dnsmasq-dhcp[682]: DHCPADVERTISE(br0) 00:01:00:01:1b:eb:4f:58:44:8a:5b:bc:44:09 no addresses available

and since I was getting about 16 of these a day with 376.49*, it seems that whatever was causing them has been killed. Or they're being filtered. Either way, nice not to have them filling up my log day after day *smile*.

Thanks to whoever fixed this!

Pinwing's patch should be taking care of these.
