Is there somewhere a guide on how to update to the new 64k firmware with a clean install?
I always read that I should wipe the nvram through telnet, but I have absolutely no idea how that works. :(
Any help would be appreciated.

No need to use telnet for this, just use either the reset or the WPS buttons. See the FAQ on my Wiki: https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/wiki/FAQ

For the rest, flash that update just like any regular firmware update.

Right. GRO control is the one that's under Switch Control.
Hmm... I'm running version 246.19b and don't see a GRO option there, or anywhere for that matter.

That's because I build my firmware with GRO entirely disabled. That option is only there in the official firmware.

RMerlin:

Any ideas why I can't keep my 3g connection live. It starts out ok but after awhile I lose a active connection to the internet even tho the router software says I'm connected. I have to cycle the on/off switch in the 'Internet Status' to be able to surf again.

I've opened a case on this with Asus Tech

No clue. I don't have a 3G device to test it.
