If you take a look at the WRT320N wireless data in the Wireless Charts, you'll see best case 76.2 Mbps with router and client in the same room. All other locations with 5 Ghz band, 40 MHz mode uplink are in the 40 Mbps range.

So, I'd say you're seeing reasonable normal performance.
