Are you using AB-Solution on your router?

Thanks for your votes so far.
The numbers of the poll are encouraging. My guesstimate of AB-Solution users is between 100-200 installs.

That's worth the effort to try and get it running.
Cross your fingers!

I see, it officially supports these routers:
- Netgear R7000
- Linksys EA6900
- Huawei WS880
Anyone using them with AB-Solution please report...

I'm using your Adblock service on a R7000 together witch a custom backlist, I hope the GUI would support custom back/whitelist without the need to ssh each time to add a site

So do I ;)

Also running AB Solution on my R7000 w/ XWRT Vortex. Works like a charm and a walk in the park to setup as it is, GUI would just be the cherry on top of the icing that is already on the cake!

Appreciate all your work.

Too complicated for me. Even looking at the how to format a usb to ext format was puzzling. I think this is for the tech heads. If there is a Dummies installation and easy to follow GUI then I will install it, otherwise I can live with Adblock for now on all my clients.

How about this: http://en.code-bude.net/2013/02/12/how-to-create-an-ext4-partition-on-windows/
Create an ext3 partition if possible.

And that would be handy to be built into AB-Solution. Not sure how far back in Asuswrt-Merlin fdisk, mkfs, e2fsck and tune2fs are part of the firmware.
Maybe @RMerlin can answer that.

AFAIK, they've always been there.

Ah so much easier using that application.

I followed your instructions in the thread to install and everything works fine thankyou.

I just need to get my head around the advanced stuff mentioned here:
http://www.snbforums.com/threads/ab...itelist-blacklist-contribution-project.31638/

As I have no idea what to do with the code snipets being posted.

Add them to your whitelist.txt (to allow certain domains) or blacklist.txt (to append more domains to what's already blocked) and use WinSCP (free) to edit your white/black list in /tmp/mnt/sda1/*list.txt. If you're just wanting to block basic ads, you'll be fine with the default and shouldn't have to mess with it anymore.

Let it be. Enjoy your ad free browsing and come back for answers when you need help with something. AB-Solution works just fine without tinkering.

Hi guys

So is this planned to be merged with AsusWRT-Merlin ? cause im working on my own blocker and really dont want it to be default more of a optional if anything inside the firmware, btw i added both AB-Solution and my script on the Wiki for AsusWRT-Merlin.

PS.
sry for being a party crasher.

Why would you think so? Built in Ad Blocking will not be part of Asuswrt-Merlin.
What may happen is that I will release a version of AB-Solution that is installed by the user and then feels like it is part of Asuswrt.

Mine started out on Padavan firmware along time ago recently moved over to Merlin since there isnt support for AC56u (Broadcom) on Padavan
