Commit 855fc08 has the description "Merge SDK 7114 files and binary blobs for RT-AC3100 and RT-AC5300 (GPL 384_20379)".

Looking at release/src/router/bwdpi_source/asus/prebuild_arm_7114/RT-AC5300/libbwdpi.so
the version in github is the same as the one in GPL_RT_AC3100_300438420379.zip,
but this file is different from the one in GPL_RT_AC5300_300438420379.zip?

The github version in release/src/router/bwdpi_source/asus/prebuild_arm_7114/RT-AC3100 itself has not been updated yet.

Interesting find. AC3100 source has indeed not updated yet

Converted from 384.3 to 384.4 aplha1 ok, didn't factory default reset on RT-AC86U All going great so far. Have noticed on "QoS - WAN/LAN Bandwidth Monitor" the device priority settings now stay of High/Medium with the devices you select etc..., with earlier levels including 384.3 they didn't. Now off to play with the RT-AC87U.
BTW..impressive the skills of "RMerlin" in these firmware solutions!!

Maybe related: commit 9afa4aa ("build: fix a few paths in copy-prebuilt script") reverted commit 206b89a ("build: update copy-prebuilt for model-specific libbwdpi.so collection").

Here I am, just installed ver. RT-AC68U_384.4_alpha1-g760f919
No installation problem. The first impression is excellent.
On fly I noticed 2 things:

1) AiProtection Page is ok in English, while it is to adjust the formatting in Italian (see screenshot)

2) Tools page. Ethernet Ports.
At the door n. 2 ... I connected a TL-WPA8630 device (a Powerline AV1300 kit).
In previous firmware the name of the device (TL-WPA8630) was displayed, while now ... every 5 seconds are displayed in rotation the device names that are connected to that Powerline.
I do not know if this is a problem, but it is a different behavior than before.

Did you try selecting English for the language at the upper right corner of the page?

I actually just noticed that QOS statistics and web history tabs don't output anything on my AC5300. Has anyone else had this happen theirs as well?

Asus made changes to how the client selector dropdown is implemented in 384_20379. I haven't gone through all pages yet to ensure these changes were all properly applied, I only took care of the DHCP page so far.
Would that explain the gui but in Ap mode where at you select a wifi Channel on the 87u it appears as blank and does not display the selected channel number on both bands.

The RT-AC5300 version seems to work fine. Together with Skynet and AB-Solution. I had the Asus FW for a couple of days, with Ghostery and adblock but was shocked how much slower that worked.

Merlin/AB-Solution/Skynet is just super snappy.

Have you tried adguard? Ive been using theyre dns beta for a few weeks now plus the built in trend mico stuff and its been impressive but havent compared its snappyness. The site info i believe is www.adguard.com

The flashoholic in me had to try the first 384.4 alpha build for RT-AC5300.

Flashed, rebooted and 60+ devices have reconnected fine. It's a Netflix night so I won't be poking at the devices much tonight.

The first observation - I didn't add any new entries under "Manually Assigned IP around the DHCP list (Max Limit : 128)" but hit the Save button (don't even know why) and the following error popped up:
"Resulting list of DHCP reservations is too long - remove some, or use shorter names."

The RT-AC5300_380.69_2 firmware wasn't complaining about this. Not only I didn't add anything but I'm sure I don't have 128+ entries. There ought to be other limits now. What are they and how do I check which ones I'm now exceeding?

Also confirming other folks' observation that QoS_Stats.asp and AdaptiveQoS_WebHistory.asp no longer show any data.

Thanks!

Hi Merlin,

Made an account for this, but on the ac5300, I noticed since going from 380_69_2 to 384.4 alpha 1, the protected management frame option is missing in wireless. Wasn't sure if Asus removed it or it was a CSS issue like the wireless Mac filter page earlier reported. Can also confirm the QoS bug's as well.

Best,
Davi

LAN - DHCP Server
Manually Assigned IP around the DHCP list (Max Limit : 128)

There is a problem there. It does not accept over 60 devices.
This problem was also present in previous 380.xx versions

All good so far in my 87U. The only thing that when I do a reboot is the access to Https.

AC68U. dirty flash from 384.3 beta 2 to 384.4 alpha 1.

Everything ok. But during boot up there is 3 minor error msg (highlighted in BOLD). What it mean?

The new limit is 2500 bytes to contain all the staticlist data.
So (per entry, assuming single byte chars),
MAC=17 bytes
IP = up to 15 bytes (let's use 12 as an avg)
Hostname = up to 16 bytes (let's again use 12 as an avg)
Field separators = 3 bytes

Avg bytes/entry = 44

2500/44 = 56 entries as a typical max
