i have updated from last official fw to directly last merlin fw, now i cannot enter the router from web 192.168.0.1 / 1.1. i do not want to reset it, have any ideea what to do next?

so am clear, when you say official is it in reference to ASUS stock going to merlin FW? Eitherway, try SSH if that fails, no easy way and reset is the way to go.

Update went fine on a AC3100 and the network is up and running. Only issue so far is that I can no longer ssh into the 3100 from inside my LAN. The connection gets refused. When the connection did not work initially I turned SSH off from the router GUI and manually rebooted. Then again enabled SSH for LAN only on port 22 and enabled SSH brute force protection, but still the connection was refused from within my LAN.

I’m able to ssh into my 88U from the LAN. I login with a certificate. I noticed that the ssh key changed and I had to accept the new one in order to log in.

What does that mean? Note that I have QoS disabled.

Only Asus knows. The stock firmware also had the same message.
Any major chg frm 382.1 beta4 to the release 1?
WiFi a little unstable after the upgrade

No. Your problem definitely lies elsewhere.

Code:
merlin@ubuntu-dev:~/am382$ git log 382.1-beta4..382.1 --oneline
a66b6c2 Bumped revision to 382.1 final
557add1 Updated documentation
898e9a1 openvpn: fix default nvram value for custom settings on server 1
e9d8c29 Updated documentation

I set up QOS and then disabled it. This error showed once when I enabled and again when I dissabled.

First one is a notification that the fq_codel patch was removed, which is normal if you configured it as your scheduler and you turn off QoS.

Second one is from the closed source Trend Micro engine, only Asus knows what it means.

Finally I’m not seeing the Wifi radar in the wireless section as mentioned in the change log. Where is this exactly?

Only available on the RT-AC86U. This is mentioned in the OP, but got lost on the detailed changelog.

What beta are you referring to?

The RT-AC3200 apparently didn't go thru a beta phrase for the .382 firmware? Hmmm? I have been searching forums for the ac3200 beta and they have been largely silent till ASUS released the functional .382 for this model. I'll wait till you have the firmware ready for this model.

Keep this forum focused. Read the first paragraph of post #1.

@RMerlin
Definitely something up with SSH and I think it's the "Enable SSH Brute Force Protection" option that's causing it.

Enable SSH LAN+WAN access.
Enable SSH Brute Force Protection.
Reboot or toggle restart WAN.
Lost internet access both, intranet seems fine.
Disabled SSH Brute Force Protection without a reboot or WAN restart and internet access is restored.

I have noticed that this version uses more memory. My memory usage is up 7%. Can anyone else concur or should I reset to factory defaults?

I have seen the same since 382 beta 1 and even reported few times and noone reported back the same. This seems to be due the new Trend Micro engine...
Anyway my main concern is that with 382 it seems that Trend Micro automatically disable the NAT acceleration, which is really a pain for me as even without any service running in the router, the full ISP speed (300Mb) cannot be reached due the cpu utilization at 100%. If I enabled the VPN server with Trend Micro enabled, VPN performance is worse due the overall cpu utilization.. I hope Asus fix this to be able to maintain NAT acceleration even with Trend Micro enabled (as it is in 680 version). See the cpu util. for 382 while Trend Micro is active (100%cpu) vs Trend Micro inactive while running a speedtest.

I'm having issues with the QoS too, same settings as Firmware: 380.68_4 but both of my kids getting major lag in games when Its enabled..
I'll try to do a hardware reset to see if that helps..

I tried to replicate this and couldn't.

NAT acceleration should be "cut through forwarding". Flow acceleration is disabled.

@RMerlin do you know when are they going to implement IFTTT?

Also I have noticed that AiProtection is ON, while switch is set to OFF. Ill try to enable it and turn off each part of Aiprotection, but how can I ensure its really off?

I tried to replicate this and couldn't.

Not sure what the problem could be then.

Setup like this and my home network loses internet.

Disable brute force protection and all's good.

I don't know about you guys but I'm resetting to factory defaults and manually config to see what the legitimate changes really are.

Should be straight forward, try unplugging any USB devices, reboot router and make sure you have the right file.

USB device is not used. Restart is done three times, but the state does not improve. Is there a possibility that there is a problem in the content checking part when beta 3's firmware is uploaded?

I uploaded it to 382.1. There was also a mysterious thing, so I will report it.

The update target [RT-AC 88 U] [382.1 beta 3]

1.An attempt to update to 382.1_0 failed (Invalid firmware error)
2.I tried updating to 382.1beta4 but it also failed.
3.I saved my settings and made a factory reset.
4. tried updating to 382.1_0. Although I did not make an error this time, the version notation remained at 382.1 beta 3.
Even if I restarted this notation did not change.
5.I tried 382.1 beta as well, but it was 382.1 beta 3 as it was.
6.Restored saved settings. After that, when updating to 382.1_0, there was no error. The notation also became 382.1.

What is the cause?

Thank You RMerlin!
Installed over beta 4, again, update was uneventful :)
Hoard of Users (Family and "Friends") have issued zero complaints of Loss of Connectivity!!

EDIT:
QoS and AiProtection active

I was doing the test with RT-AC88U at 382.1beta3. Today when I try to update to the official version 382.1, Invalid Firmware
Upload is displayed and it can not be updated. The same error will be displayed even if I try to update to another version.
Do I have to update the firmware using [Firmware Restorarion]? It takes 1.5 hours to fly this and I want to avoid going because I have to go.

I had a similar issue, no error message, just a never ending “please wait, updating settings”, which never went anywhere.
Powered router down, then retried, all good now.
