[Release 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 is now available
That said, I'm still having issues with a 2.4GHz WeMo light switch, sometimes it will respond, but very slowly and other times it doesn't work at all. And even other times it works just fine. I'm not sure what's going on with it but I didn't have this behavior with my RT-N66U.
I do recall SNB's review of the 86U mentioning something about erratic connection behavior on the 2.4 GHz and I'm wondering if that's what I'm seeing. Although, it seems to be only the one device, so I don't know.
Thanks! It looks that Your SSID is being broadcasted just fine. Sorry my idea is moot.Like this...
Yes, but original question wasn't mine. It was posted by Keenan. I never had problems original poster posted about. I just simply posted this screenshot of where he should look for this HIDE SSID settingThanks! It looks that Your SSID is being broadcasted just fine. Sorry my idea is moot.
You had asked me if the Wemo light switch was trying to access a hidden network. I responded that I did not know how to determine that. I'm guessing now that you might have thought that I had not set a broadcast SSID, I thought maybe you meant the switch was trying to access a network other than the one I wanted it to.Thanks! It looks that Your SSID is being broadcasted just fine. Sorry my idea is moot.
Regarding the settings, those recommendations were in response to a particular problem I was experiencing. I'm not sure what the best settings are for those features, if everything works with them set to on then I would probably leave them on.Thank you, is it actually recommended to turn these things off in your link, if one is not having any issues?
Also if someone can explain something, yesterday I installed a Amazon FireTV stick in the same room as my router, it could not find the 5ghz wifi band (only 2.4ghz)
I looked on my router settings and it was on Auto channel, selecting channel 100.
I switched to channel 44 and the fire tv could then pick up the 5ghz band.
Not sure what the issue was here and why it could not see 5ghz on channel 100?
Also on some higher channels I manually selected it would choose 20mhz or 40mhz, channel 44 seemed to select 80mhz so I have stayed on that, is that ok?
Thank's
I have tested oVPN with only 1 client, either with the 380.X, and with 382.X.Anyone experiencing an issue with OpenVPN client where sometimes a client will not accept the forced DNS configuration? For example, if I remove a client from the policy routing table and go to re-add it, the client is not accepting the VPN DNS. I have to remove all clients from policy routing and re-add them in order to make it work. I have about 10 clients in the policy routing table so I'm not certain if it's hitting a limit on number of clients.

RT-AC68U can use 382
but I can't find the firmware in
https://sourceforge.net/projects/asuswrt-merlin/files/RT-AC68U/Release/
so...
where is the 382 firmware for RT-AC68U ?
Thanks.
And here it was said that it had to be faster than the 380.x version...Does anyone have trouble with a slow VPN connection on release 382.1? I upgrade the firmware and noticed that my VPN speed drop to an average 15mb, but should be around 30 to 40mb. I can't find what's the problem is and have uploaded the attached file of the system log.
Thanks and using the RT-AC88U.
I have had this happen more often than not on prior releases. The fix was always a factory reset followed by a restore using @john9527 nvram backup and restore utility. Unfortunately, the utility does not yet support 382.x firmware.Does anyone have trouble with a slow VPN connection on release 382.1? Nobody said that. All performance comments were related to the RT-AC86U versus other models. And here it was said that it had to be faster than the 380.x version...
After the update, did you reset to factory default?Hi All, I upgraded my RT-AC88U today from 380.68_4 to 382.1_2 and it seemed for the first couple of hours everything appeared to be working fine. Then I noticed all my 2.4 Ghz only devices were no longer connecting to the WiFi. So I decided to log into the router and turn off the I think it was MIMO option, which just handles all the wifi settings automatically for me via smart connect rules.
The reason I can't remember that option now, is because when I turned that option off, I clicked apply and now I am presented with the following message when I try and access my router:
Because of this error message I can no longer login to my router... what is that all about ?
I haven't tried rebooting the router yet as family are using the network.
I am so regretting upgrading, I purposely waited for a stable release and didn't grab the first one of those either.
Any ideas?
After the update, did you reset to factory default?
If you haven’t, might have to do that.
