I'm gonna go and give it one more try then, testing AllShare, WMP share and Serviio, and gonna try to watch a couple of movies. My TV is a 7500 tho which makes it to belong to series 8. (Not sure thats relevant.)

Have you tried something like..
1) Backing up nvram and settings using John's scripts
2) restoring factor defaults
3) flashing to 380.61 again
4) restoring factory defaults
5) restoring nvram and settings using John's scripts?
6) reboot and enjoy

I had some crazy weird stuff happening on my RT-AC68U and 380.58.. and doing this cleared it up. I have seen similar reports. It takes like 15 minutes to try.

I've confirmed that the guest network feature is no longer working. Symptoms are, it no longer will allow clients to log on, says it is incorrect password, even though it is correct. I attempted deleting and setting up a new instance with a slightly different name. No joy. I have an 88u running the newest merlin firmware.

Is anyone else seeing this problem?

Works for me, using an RT-AC88U and a Nexus 5X.

I always factory reset, since i don't really use any special settings and my net ip is dinamic too so.

I've tried but it was a dead end, I couldn't finish a 40 minute movie, I lost my sources one by one, first WMP, then AllShare, then Serviio. Serviio managed to come back sometimes (If I reconfigured the DNS on the TV), but the other two lost untill I unplug my TV from the power source.

Howdy all. I was just wondering on the hourly network scan. I know Asus stated they removed it so no need for Merlin to have a disable button. However my server seems to have developed a bit of a sleep issue (I know some say server is 24/7 365 but I am a tree hugger..Birch mostly if you must know).

The last time this happened was related to the hourly scan. Is there a way to test if it is really gone. TIA to all and a very hardy shout out to Merlin for his tireless work.

87u, everything seems ok, but I keep seeing this in my syslog
19:53:44 rstats[468]: Problem loading /mnt/sda1/Asus/tomato_rstats_08626690a120.gz. Still trying

I am using version 378.56_2 now and without major issues. If I upgrade to the latest 380.61, can I downgrade back to 378.56_2 if get any issues ? I heard before that new firmware cannot be downgrade.

Thanks

The code is definitely disabled.

If you are having the same issue with all these different software, it's quite obvious the problem is not the firmware, and certainly not minidlna.

Hi all.

Updated from 380.60B2 to 61 Final. All works well so far. 2 days now without any issues. Previous I had all kinds of problem with both 59 Final and 61 Alpha. Tried them several times without success. All outer builds have been good. (AC5300)
Just one question. In the log from this morning I read this...What does it mean?

Execpt the fact that everything is dandy if I roll back.

Hey,

I've just updated to the 380.61 fw on my N66U. The webadmin sites always logs out after a short time, i've tried with the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Edge browsers, i've emptied my browser cache, set not to login from the browser after 30min, but neither of these steps solved the issu.
I've came across with the problem, when i would have liked to remove an item from the manually assigned dhcp ip list, than add a new one but i couldn't. Sometime i can't see the remove edit buttons either. When i hit apply, after i removed or added an item than it immediately exits.

And I have tested with two different Samsung TVs, different DLNA engines, old Sony TV and a bluray player for you. Tried with both AC66U and AC87U. No problems.
I guess there is something else as allready stated. Maybe you get weaker signal? If I'm not mistaken there has been a change in "radio" between the two FW? You are the only one reporting this problem, so I think you should try to move your router/tv/reset tv/change channel/change band.

Good luck.

It's a wired connection.

Check on the Tools -> Sysinfo page that you aren't running out of nvram space.

Most likely a port forwarded by UPNP to a program or a computer that is no longer up and running.

OK, Thanks. Just had to reboot the router due to that everything got extreamly slow. After reboot it works well again...Just like a sort of overload...?
