But are your devices actually experiencing measurable connection issues?
Not sure exactly what you mean, some of them connect for couple minutes and disconnect, some will get error like my Galaxy s9+ Could not get IP address
Wired clients work perfect

Flashed back the ASUS stock FW, hard reset, manually set up, still same problem
I presume the router has hardware defect ?
Thanks god I have my backup AC87U/384.9 running fine :)

Odd.is it just me or is anyone else experiencing the sig update version difference, what is the latest one?

My router says
2.116 Updated : 2019/03/08 16:39

The Asus app says
Last Updated: 2019/03/29 23:00

I remember there was a command to force it to reset or something?

Any estimate of when you'll have a release that incorporates this fix? If its going to be out soon, I won't bother with updating to 384.10_0 on my AC86Us.

Maybe early next week, giving it more time to see if other issues require fixing as well.

Hey all,

I've been using ExpressVPN configured on my router running 384.9 for the longest time and it's been rock solid. The router has been running non-stop for weeks (not even a single restart) and everything has always remained properly connected.

I'm not sure how/if it's related but ever since I installed the latest 384.10 firmware, for some unknown reason, every x period of time, I lose internet connectivity on all my devices and when I log into my router, it says that I'm "Disconnected" from the internet.

When that happens, I switch off my OpenVPN Client connection, and the internet comes back on. Then I turn it back on and everything is perfect again for a little while until bam, it all stops again.

Has anyone seen this? It's been driving me crazy :(

If you have issues connecting your OpenVPN client, make sure you have up-to-date certificates. Older SHA1-signed certificates are no longer accepted by OpenSSl 1.1.1.

Could this also be the cause of:

Internet status:
Disconnected

Ever since updating to 384.10?

Observation: Don't connect something to the network just because it is capable, connect it if you plan to use it's network ability or don't connect it at all. This will significantly reduce your threat surface. Just saying! ;):)

The unreliable connection report has been an issue with stock firmware for the past two release. Take a look in other posts in the forums, there are fixes and workarounds posted multiple times, regarding the new WAN monitoring settings found on the Administration page.

@ tommyv2 : I'm on Bell Fibe too and do not have the Wan disconnects issue on 384.10. I'm on a 86U. Sadly you did not state your router.

Edit : I also run those great tools : Diversion, Skynet & Stubby. No VPN though.

86U for me. Issue just started today, despite updating to .10 on Sunday. Pretty brutal.

But... this is just a DNS thing. If I set a client to public DNS, it works. However, it’s aggressive and NTP doesn’t update so the router logs all say May 5 after reboots.

Hey all!! I have a wifi client on my 5g network that disconnects almost right on the hour, every hour. Any setting that may be causing this? What sort of thing would cause this to happen every freaking hour on the hour?

My cell phone, a pixel 3 xl does this constantly with my 68u. I'm not sure why though.

Universal Beamforming disabled? If not, you can try that.

I am running nordvpn using latest version and have no issues. Maybe try removing your VPN client configured reenter. I also run Diversion, Stubby and Skynet. My VPN client dns is set to strict and VPN policy is set to ALL. Also I use QoS. Very stable.

I'm playing with the wifi settings on the AX88U and this seems to have fixed the hourly disconnects.

Actually @scjr it was the darn NitroQam and I recall you warning me about the TurboQam modulation type a while back now. I'm old, it takes a couple times for things. ;):)

Works fine on my RT-AC68U, but the real time traffic monitor is still broken. Selecting Per Device: Real Time kills the GUI (back button to recover).

From what I've understood here, if you're using Stubby, your VPN DNS should be set to disabled otherwise you are not using Stubby but rather your VPN provider's DNS.
