Winfi lite on Windows 10 app store. Free and works decent. Iirc rmerlin made a thread about it a while back.
Ofdma was enabled by default for me.
Had to manually enable the WiFi agile multi and.
Exact same symptoms here on all my RT-AX88Us.It self corrected after I rebooted modem and routers
But not sure what happened
Also why is 5ghz band 2 occupied in AI mesh when I have it hardwired??? Makes no sense

That is same as ax88u. That is one reason I return ax88u and get gt 5300Exact same symptoms here on all my RT-AX88Us.
I reverted to firmware 6436 and currently there is zero problem affecting me apart from Let's Encrypt certificate. But I had made backup copy of the certificate when I was on latest firmware. Downgraded back to 6436 and copied my backed up certificate files to the correct folder through WinSCP ssh access and fixed the problem myself. No need to return such an excellent router and replace it with inferior product. That is same as ax88u. That is one reason I return ax88u and get gt 5300
If you use Let's Encrypt certificate, before downgrading, export your certificate files to your PC from DDNS page of the router. How can u revert back? I think I might need to as well or return it , have till 1/31 to return back to Amazon

my first post.
bought this GT-AZ11000 brick in December as an upgrade from my Netgear XR500 (which kept losing internet connection every day.) Now this one is doing just the same , if not worse than the XR500!
Updated firmware on the GT-AX11000 straight out of the box, next day no internet connection wired or wireless ? had to keep rebooting it daily (i even set it to reboot itself 3 times a week and it still manages to lose internet on the days its not rebooted!). Also the wifi range was abysmal! Im on an 80meg line and just 20 ft away from this coat-hanger antenna'd router could only provide 8mbps ! pathetic!
Updated to newest firmware as of 21 jan 2020, thinking this would cure all my issues, sadly no! just woke this am to discover once again, no internet access wired/wifi. Must check if i can still return this paperweight to Amazon!.
could someone please tell me what the most reliable router is that would have some of the features of the GT-AX11000 ?
So far, ive googled all of the top 10 gaming routers for "dropping connection" and EVERY one of them seems to do it, so to me there is no reliable router out there at all ? Please tell me there is one at least ??
thanks
No offence intended, but for multiple routers to be providing poor speeds and dropouts of internet connectivity, I'd be looking into the modem/isp side of the connection for issues rather than routers.
Are the modems set to do pppoe or just double nat off the isp modem?
Just because the line doesn't drop, doesn't mean that the pppoe login won't drop, what mtu are you using on the wan port?
When you say wired connection stops working, you mean unable to login to the router, or devices can't talk to each other over the lan?
As for WiFi speed, sounds like your wifi setup is operating at 20mhz width on all bands, check the wifi config pics I posted up above in this thread, using AC & AX cards I'm frequently copying from my NAS box exceeding GB ethernet link speeds to multiple clients. (Not saying this router is perect, nothing ever is, but speed for wifi is not one of them)
on the asus, when the connection drops, check in the logs in system tools.
Also, does the router claim to still have a wan address or does it show as disconnected?
One more thing to try as you've mentioned BT and the uptime being in the months range. When you get chance, power off the HG612 for 30 minutes. 30 minutes will cause the bt exchange to recognise an inactive line and during this time the network controller is able to update its config and reset the line to a clean state, then give it another go. Stale vdsl connections aren't always the best connection unfortunately.
