You've got a router with extra 1 pound of plastic - part of the "Gaming" marketing. Perhaps the main reason for the return.
Operation and Function should be more of a concern, than appearance.
GT-AX6000 w/ RMerlin working without issue!

Anyone running Asus Mesh (backhaul wired or not) on the GT-AX6000 with the BETA firmware 102.3506? If yes, did you encounter any Mesh connectivity issues, like I had when I upgraded to the last NON BETA firmware 388.22068 ? I'm still running the previous Firmware on the AX6000 388.21617 which is wired backhaul meshed with my AX86U running firmware 388.21709 and I have NO Backhaul issues whatsoever. The 388.22068 had Mesh issues. Please post if you do. Thanks @SpartanThis router is a beast!
For reference, when connected via LAN, I get 931 MBPS down / 331 MBPS up, and here is the Wireless SpeedTest results. My laptop has an Intel AX210 running the latest official driver v22.190.0.4 . The router is using BETA Firmware v9.0.0.6.102.3506 . Everything is at default except for enabling the 160hz channel and Smart Connect is enabled.

For less money than I spent on the RT-AX86U, which is no longer favored by Asus, I purchased the GT-AX6000 used from Amazon. It just works, unlike the RT-AX86U which has always been rather quirky. Not sure if it is the firmware or possibly defective hardware, but the 2.4GHz radio has never been great and 160MHz on the 5GHz radio was elusive (like Bigfoot).Looks like it was never taken out of the bag....Gotta love Amazon used.
I am running the BETA 9.0.0.6.102.3506 with 2x GT-AX6000 wired backhaul AiMesh. Everything is perfect and not one disconnection since I set the routers up.Anyone running Asus Mesh (backhaul wired or not) on the GT-AX6000 with the BETA firmware 102.3506? I totally agree. 22068 was junk. I had multiple Mesh disconnects with it. The router is extremely stable now with .21617. Thanks for the input.I am running the BETA 9.0.0.6.102.3506 with 2x GT-AX6000 wired backhaul AiMesh. Everything is perfect and not one disconnection since I set the routers up.
3.0.0.4.388.22068is a crappy firmware, slow UI and I had 1 disconnection in the short time that I used it which was 2 days. The beta is much more stable. just for reference, when I bought the routers they had 3.0.0.4.388.21617 firmware installed out of the box and that too was very stable.
If you haven't done so already, use the forum search to search through the Asus-Merlin subforum for posts about the GT-AX6000 using the Asus-Merlin firmware. It will give you an idea or sense at what firmware users of that router are using and any issues they have with it.Which of the merlin firmware is the stable one you all think, just downloaded GT-AX6000_3004_388.6_0.zip just to be ready and set to update it, any thoughts ?????
If anyone is interesteed UK amazon as this router up for sale for £199.99 dispatched and sold by amazon, i have just jumped on one coming tomorrow, would be a upgrade from my RT-AX58U.
