Scheduled check for new firmware availability source

I'm using a RT-AX86U and it has a "Scheduled check for new firmware availability" feature.
I see that whenever a new update is available, a flashing bell appears at the top of the webpage.

• Regarding this schedule, how often does it run?
• Is the schedule configurable?

I see that there are a some NVRAM values that indicate current version of the router, and values for a possible new version.

buildno_org=388.2
innerver=3.0.0.4.388.2_2
webs_state_info=3004_388_4_0
webs_state_info_am=388_4_0

• Where does the version check get the current and latest values from?
• Are they pulled from the NVRAM?

The check is done once every 24 hours, and it's not configurable. I see no reason why it would need to be - it's partly randomized to avoid having tens of thousands of users checking all at the same time.

Latest version info is pulled from my server.

I see.
Nevertheless, when a check is performed does it store the new value in the NVRAM?
Do these NVRAM parameters actually store the current and new versions?

It sets webs_state_flag=0 to 1 and you get the notification icon.

If you visit your AiMesh GUI page it triggers new firmware check and sets the flag regardless of your Scheduled check settings in Firmware Update.

• buildno= current version (is this equal to productid?)
• webs_state_info= new version
• webs_state_flag= after check, indicates there is a new version

Is that correct?
