Hey guys, total noob question but, its hard to search for specifics when the individual terms are so generalized in here.

What I wanna know is, can scripts such as amtm and others, be loaded and ran on an ASUSWRT firmware?

Or is the Merlin firmware "special" and these things can only be used in Merlin?

Just looking for easy answers,.. I would love to use the VPN Failover Monitor, and ya know,..what router couldn't use the help of a 2Gb swap file? Amirite?? ;);)

You can run scripts, the problem is automating them at startup and other service event triggers.
I’d suspect complex things like amtm wouldn’t work at all though.

Some scripts also rely on components that might not be present in the stock firmware (like some busybox applets which might be missing).

it will be a case-by-case basis, you'll have to check with the author of the specific scripts you want to use.

Having the router utilize a swap file is mainly all im really concerned with.
At least in ASUSWRT 1-2 years back this could be easily automated by using the autorun script of the mounted USB drive where you want the swap file to reside by using the nvram variable USBMOUNT pointing to the script that activates swapping. Do a quick google for details.. it is fully documented in quite a few places.
