Struggling with Asus ZenWiFi BE30000 aka 3 node BQ16 Pro bundle

Good lord what on earth is wrong with the 3.0.0.6.102_36869 firmware? It was fine for a week or so now all of a sudden 6ghz on my desktop 99% of the time can't get my 1gb speeds, It's all over the place with my Intel BE 200 and now other the Web Gui and normal browsing is lagging, The web Gui takes seconds sometime just opening different settings up.

I am getting network errors trying to connect to COD mobile on 5ghz on my S23 Ultra also.

I am fed up of rebooting this UK BQ16, 4 times in the last 24hrs I have to keep rebooting the router to resume normal operation and then shortly after it starts lagging again!

Can I flash back to the 3.0.0.6.102_36801 previous firmware for testing to see if it is a firmware bug or is that not recommended?

My first Asus router and probably my last, Never had such stupid issues with cheapo Tp Link routers.

Dito, yesterday and today BQ16 were randomly loosing internet, thought it was my ISP, so I spun up an older router and left that for a good 6 hours (steady), I flipped back to BQ16 in the AM today to test and im getting just odd behaviour. Settings on both are the same but BQ16 is just random FW hasn't changed but something is wrong.

Sorry to read about these problems. I've got a pair of BQ16s which I set up a week ago. I've been pleasantly surprised to find the performance has actually been very good on the latest FW, I haven't had any problems at all but I suppose it's early days yet. I also have an S23 Ultra and get close to the max speed of my ISP via wifi, although it does drop by about 25% at the parts of the house farthest away from one of the nodes.

When I set it up I deliberately didn't do anything to alter the settings apart from adding a guest network for the Sky Q and 4 minis (which was what I did to ensure best performance on my previous system of an AX11000 and 2 XT8s) so MLO is on for the wireless backhaul and Wi-fi 7 is also enabled on all but the Sky Q guest network.

Dito, yesterday and today BQ16 were randomly loosing internet

As I've been watching this thread, I've been thinking gee... my single node BQ16 Pro has been performing well for 20 days and I haven't been experiencing any problems... until today!

Anything connected to my 5GHz Radio was not able to access the internet;
Other LAN/Cat Devices and 2.4GHz Devices were connected to the internet without issues;
Same computer switching over from 5GHz to 2.4GHz instantly connected to the internet.
Did not reboot the Router, but went to Wireless/General and clicked "Apply" to restart the Radios and 5GHz Devices began connecting to internet immediately.

I am running Firmware v3.0.0.6.102_36869.
Radios all run separate; not SmartConnect
I could have sworn that I disabled WiFi 7 in the Main Radio Sections too, but now they are on 🤔
(turning them off again now).

WiFi 7 Features Turned Off All Radios: WiFi7 OFDMA; WiFi7 MU-MIMO;
As well OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMO Turned Off All Radios.
6GHz Radios x 2 ARE enabled, but I don't have any Client Devices connecting at this time.

I have gone back to 36801 and so far so good for over a day now no issues that I can see everything is working as expected fingers crossed.

Yeah it was kinda weird it was fine for a little while and then like BAM! multitude of different issues, I have flashed back to 36801 and all is good again, Consistent speeds and no network errors on different devices.

That's what was strange for me on my single unit also, It was fine with no issues for a little while and then I just could not stabilise any wireless over any different frequency, Random connection issues with different frequencies and different devices.

I tried factory resetting the same firmware, Inputting all my settings again and same issue instantly, After almost a day of pulling my hair out I flashed back to the previous firmware and so far so good.

I am disappointed to be fair, It's not like these routers have only just come out, They have had a ton of time to sort the basics out and still they are plagued with connection issues from what I can see.

I have the pro version, but I experienced disconnections twice in 2 weeks. The setup is with 3 bq16 pros. 1 router and 2 setup as ap’s. I rebooted the modem last week because our isp is very unreliable, but the issue wasn’t solved until I rebooted the router (bq16 pro). 10 minutes ago (this week) I had another disconnection but instead of rebooting the modem, I rebooted the router. After the router was rebooted the internet started working again. So now I’m going to reset the router tomorrow and hopefully that will fix the issue. I now realize asus is a garbage company with poor customer service and even worse software engineers.

Terrible really to think how long these have been released for now, Personally I won't be purchasing another Asus router again, Even after going back to the previous firmware everything is fine other than 6ghz is unusable for me, Excellent link up speeds 5764/5764 great signal -37dbm but it can't even max out my 1gb connection and pings are terrible for me on 6ghz with my BE 200 PCIE card, Just awful frankly.

No issues here with a pair of BQ16 Pro on 3.0.0.6.102_36869 in AP Mode with 1 mesh node with MLO
- separate wifi bands
- using old Merlin RT-AC86U as router
- laptop plugged into the BQ16 Pro mesh node upstairs and can saturate my 1Gb fiber link via MLO, 5ms ping, and 0-1ms jitter.
- I'm very picky about net connectivity and lag for work and have no issues with Mac Pro plugged in via Ethernet to BQ16 Pro mesh node.
- no issues with the 5G band with iPhones and Brother printer, has been rock solid. Will start moving my Sonos and other devices over in a bit.

Are the only folks running into issues running BQ16 Pro in Router mode, because the pure wireless has been rock solid for me with 3.0.0.6.102_36869 so far.

If the problems are with the router bits, that's something a Merlin build could really help with -- esp. if the pure wifi is solid for others running in AP Mode only.

Router only mode here on my BQ16, Everything has been fine since downgrading firmware however I am still getting erratic pings and download speeds with 6ghz band even at 320mhz, jitter is also horribly a mess somewhere and I am not sure why, 5764/5764 link speeds with my BE 200 but pings when doing speed tests are in the 20's on 6ghz, on 5ghz it's 10 or 11ms, Jitter is also much higher on 6ghz.

As you can see from the screenshots 5ghz maxes out my1gb connection consistently every time with low double figure pings, 6ghz is pathetic even with max link speeds, Worst I have seen it at 30 odd mbp/s and pings in the 20's.

Nothing else connected to 6ghz just my desktop PC with a an excellent signal strength of -29 to -32dBm

If you didn't know OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMO is WiFi 6. (This had trouble on WiFi 6e but seems resolved on be routers)...

This thread is for the ZenWiFi BE30000 model 2.4, 5, 6-1, 6-2, vs your 2.4, 5-1, 5-2, 6 GHz...

Yes you can (safely) revert to older firmware as long as there's no warning on the firmware description that warns not to...

I have a TP-Link WiFi 7 router running simultaneously with ASUS WiFi 7 and you may be disappointed switching over. They both seem to be slowly resolving some issues...

If you still have trouble on 6 GHz check for sources of noise, ie UPS/battery backup power...

The thread title says so, but in fact due to how close the 2 models are, it has been a thread for both for a long-long time
Sorry I thought someone was referring to the BQ16 with 2 5 GHz channels vs 2 6 GHz channels, aka BE25000...

Not sure if this has already been answered as I could not find an answer.

Has anyone got a 3 unit pack and managed to successfully connect the mesh network via 'Wireless MLO' backhaul. If so, do both the satellite nodes have to be connected to the main BQ16 or can they be daisy-chained wirelessly and maintain MLO backhaul?

Hopefully that makes sense.

This might be a niche question, but would be nice to know from people who own these.

In my case both are connected to the main node, but from prior experience with Asus AI (XT12s) they should work in daisy-mode just as well too.

I have 3 x BT10, both 'satellite' nodes are connected to the main node. When I manually change the node that is furthest away to connect to the node nearest to it, MLO backhaul goes away on that node. Just like the screenshot below.

So I got my 3 pack of BT10 yesterday. Funny, I plugged it in & it just worked great. All I did was enable IPV6 (Passthrough) and create two guest networks. I intentionally left it as stock as I could. Now, my 2.4 speeds on the guest is 40 down/23 up and the speed is so bad on the primary, SpeedTest fails. All three units are on 3.0.0.6.102_36869-gc90851c_1117-g956a4_BB0B

5 ghz works exceptionally well (Around 700 meg both ways). Tried 2.4 with Wifi 7 on & off. No difference. Other than waiting for firmware, any ideas?
