Why would you use it when it is built into Merlin 384.13 already?

Question, im using 2 custom DNS servers for geolocked media streaing (netflix, hulu, etc)

Can I use stubby and also those 2 servers?

Is anyone here having trouble using DoT with cloudflare? My AC86U accepts every predefined DoT serves except fot 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1. I'm using built in DoT functionality on merlin 384.16.

Thanks in advance.

Some older modems use 1.1.1.1 internally, so won't work with cloudflare if they haven't had their firmware updated. You can probably check for a list on the web.

I tried to uninstall stubby using the script and it seems something still remains there.

When Diversion restarts the dnsmasq due to an Unbound update I am getting the following message under the system log.

Apr 20 18:23:18 Diversion: restarted Dnsmasq to apply settings
Apr 20 18:23:18 JUANDOASUS (dnsmasq.postconf): Updating /etc/dnsmasq.conf for unbound.....
Apr 20 18:23:18 JUANDOASUS stubby[402]: Read config from file /etc/stubby/stubby.yml

But stubby shouldn't be there because it was removed. And there router was restarted after it was uninstalled.

Do you know how to completely removed it?

I am running rt-ax88u with the latest Merlin firmware (384.16)

Stubby is built into the Merlin firmware. Only the Entware packages from this script can be uninstalled. The firmware stubby cannot. Are you using DNS Privacy in Merlin? That uses the firmware stubby, which may be why you see the stubby messages still.

Yes, I am using DNS-over-TLS with the Cloudfare servers enabled.

I uninstalled stubby when I saw this is inside of the Melin firmware. And I thought that something went wrong when I removed the script.

Thank you @dave14305.
