This is dumbest thing ive read here in my opinion ( no offense ) . By buying premium products you should demand premium treatment and premium performance . Your post suggests that we should put even more money for latest not tested ( probably same problems as here ) product without pushing Asus to work harder is couter productive . If the last firmware will perform all the time like it does in 1st hour i wont have nothing to say here on this forum but sadly its the worst firmware after 1 hour because it becomes unusable with slow down of bandwith and delay which shows off in jumping ping.
You may be right but not sure about premium necessarily? It is not a "commercial" grade router, maybe I am wrong?
See, I gave my in-laws one of these and they are running it just fine for 2 years without ever updating the firmware, just saying and also no offense of course.

What premium product? Home all-in-one router with 100 bucks hardware inside? o_O

I paid 230 dollars ( 930 złoty ) for my 86u in poland this is optimal price if you want to get brand new model so there were maybe 2 more expensive routers at the time i bought it in whole store if its not a premium product i dont know what is and before this purchase i used to buy routers for 50 dollars and they performed "like they should" which means i put it and forget about it . This router reminds of its existance with constant problems which is connection drops mentioned dozens of times here on most firmwares as well as connection slowdown which we can observe in lastest firmware . I know wifi range and security is what costs so much but for this price firmware should be on par with hardware right now 10 euro router will obliterate 86u in terms of performance and stability ( with the exception of 45717).

You have a point but to be honest whenever I think of what a router does I am amazed it works at all :)
I have >40 devices. Cameras, computers, phones, IOT stuff on one incoming IP and there is no issue most of the time, its all magic to me :)

Yes like i said most people here wont complain because they watch facebook and the ridicolous part is asus put this router in gaming category when its as far from it as possible . If they advertise it as semi-corporate router with capabilities of holding a net of like you said 40 devices with decent security and good wifi range i have no problem but i bought it as a gaming product and if they sell it with that name i have all rights to demand them to fix it to perform at least like 10 euro routers do which is 'set and forget'. Aha and to all people saying "dont like it buy new router" i can only laugh because i spent that much money on a device that could be replaced for 50 dollars model and this is because i aimed at security and future proof nature of this model . I wanted to have peace of mind for many years and im not going to change it in many many years to come id rather demand what should be mine and is not mine because its not working like advertised... Give me what i paid for is all i ask for and every1 should if they respect themselfs and their hard worked money.

Is Facebook a big thing in Poland? You always talk about Facebook... I don't even have a Facebook account.
Posts like this - https://www.snbforums.com/threads/router-security-settings.57667/#post-505317 tell me you didn't bother to read the manual of your "high-end" router and your knowledge is the limiting factor in finding what the cause of your issue is. Constant "not working" complaints won't help you. No one can help you with your unknown issue. Your language and behavior reduce the chances to get help further.

The fact that you know what i mean by giving example of Facebook points that i was right when i used that example that was my idea. Also this forum is for educational purposes and this is what i used it for so right now my knowledge is not limiting me anymore because i know which firmware works and which firmware is not working so this prove that your claims are not true. Also i point out whats wrong with every single firmware which again proves you wrong because i dont complain to complain just rather to point out whats not working and some of the code is "cloused source" so even merlin does not know whats wrong sometimes mr smartass . Yes forum like this where asus looks from time to time is the right place to write complaints as long as you point out whats wrong . Another point that proves that im right and you are wrong is that with any other router ( example 10 euro routers ) you set them up and no1 complains because they "just work" so no room for beeing unsatisfied with purchase and here amount of people with problems shows it more than any words i can produce that the firmware is to blame and complains are the right method to push Asus to fix it.

@podkaracz i'm playing fine on my router. I've been playing destiny 2,warzone, division 2 and battlefield 5 with no problems at all. and from what i know from personal experience there's no such thing as a gaming router. if you're having problems playing online then the first culprit is your internet connection.

I mean my internet connection is not the best too but how do you explain difference in how my connection behaves between different firmwares ( Lets say dropuouts high jumping ping with exact same settings against relatively calm ping and no dropouts the only difference beeing firmware number ? Will you blame it on connection too? Also you are lacking knowledge (marketing campaign around "gaming routers") and you dont like to read what people wrote already (difference beeing firmware number) before posting your opinion and that makes you look a little bit silly.

Nowhere in your rantings have I've been able to find where you have stated what WIFI settings you are using or have changed. Same for QOS. Both can impinge on performance. Also, are you using any USB drives? Media Server? Samba? the last three will run up memory usage where adding a swap file to a thumb drive may help (yes, you can add a swap file or partition to stock Asus firmware).
You will get a lot of recommendations here. One thing I've discovered with this "new" firmware is a factory reset after upgrade is a good thing. Manually configure (don't use a backup file). Use Dual Band SmartConnect (same SSID for 2.4 and 5 GHZ), 2.4 GHZ set to 20 MHZ CH 1, 6, or 11, 5 GHZ set to 20, 40 80 MHZ on a non DFS channel (I use 36), disable WPS, Media Center and Samba. Leave all the other WIFI settings to default! (yes, there are many who say to disable this and that WIFI setting but just try it!). Don't use the router for file storage initially (in fact don't use it for file storage at all...use a NAS). Just try it with 384_81858. Antennas, have all three straight up.
Edit: Forgot to mention setting USB3 to USB2 mode and turn off UPNP.

The TUF-AX3000 and RT-AX3000 are two different models.

Probably. Found come pics of the PCB inside.

Different software perhaps?

Looks like lots of empty space, could be packaged into Apple-TV size?

This firmware has been fine for me and I game heavily.

Really need to make sure it is not somewhere else on your network by doing trace routes.

Router has been up without reboots since I upgraded the firmware.

@podkaracz claims speed and ping issues after 45717... that would be 81039 (erratic CPU, etc.) and later. I wonder what makes the version jump significant, and if that might factor into his issue on his hardware. Could those later builds be encountering bad memory or something.
