Hello,
i'm from germany.

Router runs in AP-Mode
Firmware 3.0.0.6.102_37435-gdd27f25_1059-g807f7_BB0B

Has anyone already managed to establish a 6Ghz connection with 320Mhz?
I have WIN11 24H2 with Intel BE200 WiFi driver up tu date, but it only connects at 160Mhz, I have tried all possible settings but no change.

I have Windows 24H2 and the BE200 WiFi card in my laptop HP X360 and Wifi 7 320Mhz 6Ghz connects great. The range is just as good as 5Ghz on my previous ASUS Wifi 6 router (RT-AX86U). The speed is over 2x faster than 5GHz band (I am assuming this is since there are no 6GHz Wifi routers except me in my local area.)

Wifi7 6Ghz to LAN Speed test just now: 4027.7 Mbps Down / 3143.2 Mbps Up (I think the router CPU is limiting faster speeds since one core is over 90% used during the test.) The test is with MLO off. MLO slows down the speed some (maybe due to router's CPU not being fast enough). Note this speed test is at 15 feet with a wall between router and laptop.

Thank you.

Is it possible to post your windows Settings from Intel BE 200 and the Setting from the Router?

Maybe I have some wrong settings on my Hardware.

THX

@Tpaydt, Is there some windows command line to dump the driver settings? Let me know what you want me to do? There is only really one BE200 windows settings to make sure Wifi7 is enabled 802.11be.

On the router, I am in the USA where we have 3x more 6GHz frequency spectrul than Germany. We can share 3 full 320Mhz channels. Since Gernany only has one non-overlapping 320Mhz channel available for Wifi you might have to set your router bandwidth to 320Mhz only mode and either pick the lowest or highest frequency control channel manually (disable "enable PSC (Preferred Scanning Channel)".

BTW - Your are connecting to the 6GHz band right? I would seperate the SSID to unique for each band to allow your client to control which band it is connecting too.

Yes i use only 6GHz band, 5 and 2,4 are disable.

I should also mention that my notebook is 12 years old and is not officially supported for WIN11. And I use a msata / m.2 adapter for the wifi module, maybe that is also the reason.

Well a 12 year laptop may not be fast enough to even show a speed test > 1Gbps so 160 or 320Mhz chanel may not matter until you upgrade your Laptop. I have a older laptop that is newer than yours, and the processor limits the speed tests even using a speed test app. Browser speed tests are even more limited due to CPU speed.

My current laptop specs I did the speed test with (2023 laptop):
13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1355U Base Freq 1.70 GHz Boosted Freq: 5GHz
16.0 GB DDR4 3200 MHz
(And even with this laptop I have to plug it in to reach top speed test speeds. Battery mode even in High performance power mode limits speed test to 20-30% slower)

The old too slow laptop specs ( 2016 laptop ):
6th Gen Intel Core i7-6500U 2 x 2.5 - 3.1 GHz (Intel Core i7)
16.0 GB DDR3 1066.7 MHz

I don't think my hardware has a big performance problem, it's an ASUS ROG i7-3840 16GB RAM with SSD. With this I copy to my NAS (10Gbit LAN connected to the router) with real 180MB/s and that with 6Ghz at 160Mzh (2400Mbps) connection. Yes, I agree with you that at even faster speeds it then becomes a performance issue.

But currently it looks like a software problem which does not establish the 320Mhz connection.

What command do you dump that information with?

Login to the Router
On the left side Systemprotocol
And then Wireless Protocol
It's show's the Info
I have owned ASUS routers for many years now and the web GUI does not have System Protocol in the USA (Maybe a language difference?). Here is what the options are:

Look same to me.

Ok I must found another Device with 6ghz and 320mhz to test it with my router.

Thanks for the support

Thanks!

SInce our routers wifi logs look the same, that would seem to indicate client difference. Are you sure you have a BE200 and not the BE202 ? The BE202 is 160Mhz only version of the BE200. Did you buy from questionale seller?

I tried a LAN to Wifi speedtest within 3ft of the router with laptop connected to AC power to see what the max speed would be.
I got Down and Up link rate to 5764 MBPS which is max for 320Mhz Channel.
I got 4542.9 Mbps down and 3493.9 Mbps up.
Note: server PC only has 5Gbps ethernet adapter so the download speed is pretty satruated at 4542.9 Mbps.

My brother has a newer Notebook with AX200 Wi-Fi, I will upgrade it to BE200 and test it at my router. So I can find out where the problem is.

Do you have some real number MB/s when you transfer Data with 6ghz WiFi?

Here is wifi 6Ghz file xfer at 15 feet through a wall (this is in Bytes/sec measured with CrystalDiskMark over network folder): read: 436.77 MB/s (3494.2 Mbps) write: 371.21BM/s (2969.7 Mbps)

At 3feet Read speed increased to 473.87 MB/s (3791 Mbps))

Today mine BE92U "died" for the first time, over a month up and a restart needed to make it work again. Only power led lamp was on and all others leds were off. When looking at the log file, it dont display what happened. Instead Jan 1 suddenly showing instead. Anyone have this problem that Jan 1 suddenly shows up between the dates? Like this from Jan 25 - Jan 1 - Jan 26 - Jan 27- "router died" - Jan 1 - back to Jan 27.
Jan 27 18:07:14 router died and Jan 1 shows up in the log. After a restart of the router and log started again Jan 27 18:13:01.
