Asus firmware has had a new series of dialog screens with a series of Asus Privacy Notice and EULA that one can agree or disagree with upon first login to the router. Been a number of past post about it since Asus started including it last year. Made a couple of posts about it here and here.Anyone else find the new EULA/privacy policy offensive?
It will remain on 3004 based upon chipset.I don't follow firmware news much but will AX86U stay on the 3004 or does ASUS have plans to upgrade it to 3006 eventually?
I don't have any addons installed.Folks, if you have weird UI issues, start by removing any addon that modifies your UI. The majority of these issues are caused by these addons. I also remember at least one reported issue was caused by a browser addon..
Then check your browser. I was actually testing someting on my RT-AX58 an hour ago involving the networkmap, and it was loading fine for me.I don't have any addons installed.
please see my edit above, as far as I recall this problem wasn't present in 3004_388.8_4.Then check your browser. I was actually testing someting on my RT-AX58 an hour ago involving the networkmap, and it was loading fine for me.
You can check your browser console for any Javascript error that might provide more info as to why that frame is failing to load.
SCMerlin is the very definition of an add-on that modifies the UI with it's Add-ons submenu and sitemap.I don't have any addons installed.
...
I have only SCMerlin installed.
it was installed before the update and worked fine.SCMerlin is the very definition of an add-on that modifies the UI with it's Add-ons submenu and sitemap.
i like the new security update , you can turn it off but they will still update it , some choice . on or off makes no difference , why give the option ?Anyone else find the new EULA/privacy policy offensive?
As Merlin asked, check your browser console (F12) to look for errors. Don't assume scMerlin has been updated yet to account for changes in this Beta. Rolling back the firmware doesn't prove who is to blame in this kind of situation. One version of scMerlin has to accommodate multiple versions of the firmware.Revretting to the previous version with scmerlin installed is working as it should.
no js errors that I can see.As Merlin asked, check your browser console (F12) to look for errors. Don't assume scMerlin has been updated yet to account for changes in this Beta. That does not mean that it's the firmware that's broken. These addons make a lot of assumptions about the rest of the webui, and things change over time. These addons need to adapt to these changes - that's on their respective developers to fix, not on me.please see my edit above, as far as I recall this problem wasn't present in 3004_388.8_4.
I even tried factory reset and didn't install scmerlin, the problem persists. That does not mean that it's the firmware that's broken.
