Where did you find/download 3.0.0.4.378.52-Alpha2 at?
Thanks. Have seen nothing posted about this, only saw it in a signature on here.
Just ask when I still dont understand the problem. User A explained -> I still dont understand so I must ask for another helps... Sometimes I have the solution but I still dont know if it is a right solution so I still find some helps.... Sorry about that (Dude give it up. That user posts in waves, usually with one or two questions. The problem with this user's behavior is that he continues to ask the same questions over & over even after receiving numerous responses with answers to his original queries. He has been repeatedly asked to refrain from such behavior however so far this user has demonstrated the inability to comply with reasonable and polite requests.
What router are you running it on and did you do a factory reset after installing the FW?I've been experiencing lockups with the latest build. Both 2.4 and 5ghz radios disappear and all connectivity to the router is lost. Wired and wireless. Can't even access it through a lan port. Trying the latest stock firmware to make sure it's not a hardware issue. I have to power cycle to get things up again.

I built asuswrt-merlin 378.52_alpha2 if someone want to test it for RT-AC87U"
I think I saw merlin talk about it in one of the threads. I'm guessing saidfooz got it from https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin
Look at the changelog for more info

Hi,Hi guys, upgraded to .51 and all looked fine till I observed that I actually cannot write anything on my usb 3.0 attached drive. I can read from it, with both admin (r/w) and read-only accounts but as admin I cannot copy anything on the drive anymore. All my backup jobs are failing due this. I see all the folders and files on the mounted path are admin root owned. I do not recall if this is how it should be..
Just bought the RT68U model. I am unclear on the firmware update.
Official ASUS site shows - ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.4585 - 2015/03/12
Merlin shows - RT-AC68U_3.0.0.4_378.51_0 - (6-Mar-2015)
The official firmware upgrade is newer than Merlin. Should I still apply the Merlin firmware on top of ASUS official firmware or?
What should be the latest level of ASUS firmware for me to apply Merlin firmware?
Merlins is based on 3.0.0.4.378_4129 source code from Asus. There is no source released for the 4585 yet from what I understand. However if you look at the change logs for both you will fine Merlins .51 is pretty much up to date (at least with the security fixes). Of course all up to you, if ASUS stock is working for you and you don't care for or need the other functionality of Merlins code just stick with stock.Just bought the RT68U model. Lately my openvpn client connection is not working. I have been waking up, and discovering I am not connected to vpn anymore. This is a big issue for me. I have narrowed it down toin the log. I then tried all 3 loopback options - disabled, RMerlin, Asus. All the same, it connects to my VPN provider for a few seconds after reboot, then I get the rc restart in log, vpn says its still running on, but traffic is not routed through vpn.Code:rc_service: rc 914:notify_rc restart_wrs
I don't use any trend micro, and I also have tried toggling NAT acceleration between auto and off. (I prefer off)
I read in another thread this may be related to trend micro, should I revert to a firmware without it.? If I check to make sure I am not using QoS by selecting Adaptive Qos in sidebar it also breaks the vpn connection.

source is relased, and RMerlin merged it with his code. There is no source released for the 4585 yet from what I understand.
378.52 (xx-xxx-2015)
- NEW: Merged with Asus GPL 378_4608

I had similar (not the same) issues with my AC68U router and USB until I disabled the option "Reducing USB 3.0 interference" unter Wireless / Professional / Band = 2.4GHz.
Maybe this helps also in your case.
