Asus upgraded lighttpd to a newer version with GPL 2697, it's possible they removed the modules they didn't need, for security reasons (as lighttpd is only used for AiCloud). I'll have to check if it's possible to re-enable it.

No idea what that message is, or what it refers to.

MU-MIMO support. They might have also (finally?) resolved the power drain issues with Android devices.
Does the Quantenna driver report the powersavings flag?

Does the Quantenna driver report the powersavings flag?
It still doesn't report any flags other than Associated and Authenticated, however doesn't mean Powersave is not working...
As far as I can say, with 24 hours test, it seems the drain is finally gone! :) Will keep updating on this matter...
As a matter of fact, everything on the 5GHz seems much more stable now, MU-MIMO seems to be working as well!

Uhm no he cant upgrade the power. Its things like HGs firmware that CAUSED the FCC to lockdown firmware...

1) Sir i would like to know if you can add a feature of Boosting the wireless signals for about 200 MW or more just how it was on hggomes firmware ??

2) I am getting 21 MB/sec NAS transfer speeds on both 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHZ which is surprising , as i expected more from 5 GHZ network on my asus router.

This is partly why the FCC has forced vendors to lock down their firmware... Its also why TPLinks new routers are currently bricks since you cannot use third party hardware..

Upgraded from 58 to 59. I did this remotely. After reboot I had access for about 3 mins then nothing. But it is ok on LAN on further inspection the VSERVER port mapping and several upnp port mappings seem to be non functional - despite them appearing on the port mapping page. Reboot hasn't fixed.

--edit--
Weirdly if I connect using https against the external IP address it all works ok, if I connect using the dns name it fails. If I ping the dns name the IP address resolves ok. Weird! (I am doing this test from a work machine and my cell phone).
I noticed that while my port forwarding was on, ports weren't being forwarded. Also, on my OpenVPN server page, server 1 and 2 were on, but on the status page were stopped. Rebooting them didn't help. In both cases disabling them, then reenabling them, fixed the issue. I'm not calling that an issue with 59, as I had changed from 58 to 59a1, b1 and b2 along the way. But it may help if you disable and reenable.

Firstly, thank you RMerlin for your hard work and excellent modded firmwares. I have been a (donating) lurker for a while. :)

I realise this isn't strictly Merlin related but I have the RT-AC87U and was happy to see the MU-MIMO update in this FW rev. I also have the EA-AC87 to extend my WLAN. My understanding is that these were sister products, yet I can't find any official FW update for the latter with similar MU-MIMO update. Am I blind or is Asus dragging their heels / has just forgotten about this product?

I have updated my RT-AC87U from .58 to .59 and almost everything is working fine. Before I upgraded I had noticed that Site Survey just goes to "searching for available networks, please wait... " whether in active or passive mode and is doing the same in .59. If I disable the 5Ghz radio, then Site Survey runs perfectly.

Before I go to factory reset and rebuild, is there anything I can check or try to see why this is happening (MAC filters are off for 2.4 and 5)?

well I updated to 380.59 all looks good here is and do to the QOS changes mentions not etireal sure if effect my router but here is a dslreports test with QOS on

Would like to know why SOME of the devices defualt to Laptop icon yet there is no laptop icon to choose anymore from the list. cause we got new icons but there is no laptop icon anymore there is macbook (laptop icon) but no laptop icon so now not big issue i guess

As far as I know this is due to android connecting and disconnecting a lot. I'm still on 58 due other wifi issues I have with 59 and my phone roams between the 87u and second access point continuously. Because the connection status changes all the time, a lot of apps try to update, hence the power drain. Allthough android 6 has some better update management.

I had that in 380.59 beta 1 but it's no longer there in the the latest release. I always do a NVRAM clear and factory reset after all f/w updates.
never tried the betas, i did a clear nvram for telnet and reset/restore to default within gui of .59, i mostly use firefox so no biggie.

also Viewlist for clients does not populate for anyone else? only Client status lists connected devices for me

*edit*
and now viewlist is populating Odd

Check the web browser console for any Javascript error that might be preventing the page from working.

Updated to 59, now I don't have an 5GHz-2 WIFI.

In Europe, you might have intermittent issues with the second radio due to those channels being controlled by DFS. People reported the same issue with the stock firmware, typically the channel reappear after 20 minutes.

Channels 36 to 48 are not DFS though. Those channels shouldn't be affected.

Whenever I add a guest network on 5ghz, the Channel I chose won't be used but instead it'll use a DFS channel. This is on my RT-AC87U, is that a similar issue?

I don't know if others have seen this behavior, but my iOS devices were dropping off of the network whenever the screen was turned off (not desired behavior for me). I disabled the Automatic Power Save Delivery and this issue appears to have gone away. Perhaps that was working as designed, but I need my devices to continue to receive notifications and such through the network even if the screen is off/locked. Just thought I would share this in case others are seeing something similar and aren't sure what the culprit may be.

Using a Asus RT-N66R and the router doesn't show up as a PC over Samba with this firmware. Which means master browser option isn't working.

Reverted back to "RT-N66U_378.55_0" and it works fine.

Same.
Can you check next time plz if its happen again under : http://192.168.1.1/Tools_Sysinfo.asp , Network at the bottom if Wan and Lan Ports are "Querying Devices"
That thing happened to me 2 times in beta 2 and 1 time last night. Each time 5 min later list is populating again

P.S: And i dont see any Javascript error related to something in FFox console

that list the amount of connected clients like it always and lan ports list the device connected to it.

The View list from http://192.168.1.1/index.asp is also listing all clients connected correctly

Sadly, for me, my AC87u is back to having stability problems that existed before .58. My two 68u's, so far, are fine, but the AC87U reboots about every other hour.

Factory reset after upgrade as always.

Updated AC87R with no issues. Did factory reset after update and then did a nvram clear. Everything running nice and smooth. Thank you RMerlin :)
