My speeds have dropped from 400mb to 50mb since update is there anything I need to do.

I was playing with the WiFi Radar. Not sure if this is already reported but it is not working.
it shows only my WiFi, although there are others too. Just to be sure I enabled 5Ghz Hotspot on my mobile device, still not showing in the WiFi Radar.

It doesn’t work I’d you’re using a DFS channel on the 5ghz band

Create a signature detailing your network setup, and describe in your post the issue you are actually facing - is it your WAN connection or client(s) that has lowered from 400 to 50, based on what testing, and so forth. Should go without saying, really - you don't even state which router you are using.

Using a asus ac86u. I know I was getting 400mb solid before the update using speed tests.

Now it won't got above 50mb

Sorry my bad I've just asked my son to do a speed test with his iPhone and series x all getting 400 to 500 mb

So I checked in the router settings to see which band there connected to.

There all connected to 5ghz I'm the only device connected to 2.4ghz.

I'll work this out somehow. There devices are newer than mine but I can connect to 5ghz on my sky router with my device

Why does this version have the 'cferomrom' included in the file name? Does this also include a bootloader upgrade? Its size is incrementally larger than the last releases.

Dirty upgrade from 386.7_2 on both AC86U router and AC68U node - no issues and running smoothly for the last 12 hours now.

Dirty upgrade working well on AC86U, but keep on getting many errors in the log (see below). Are these messages a problem? What do they mean?

I got the confirmation that AC models will not be moved to 388 - only AX models will be.

388.1 Release notes
This code base is only available for AX models, AC models will stay on the 386.x code base. Asus hasn't added any of these to their End-of-Life list as of now, so that means they will still get updates, just not as frequently.

Any idea ??

Try rebooting the router and then upload the new firmware.

I was honestly worried you weren't going to receive any new releases from Asus for the AC models.
Though all that seems necessary now for AC models is mostly bug and major exploit fixes, if any arise.

@RMerlin, have Asus sent you a BE router yet? RT-BE96U and GT-BE98 were officially shown at CES and are up on their website now.

Since the upgrade, it looks like inadyn is forcing an IP update every 30 minutes instead of the configured period (20 days in my case).
Using the "NoIP" service on the RT-AC86U.

I note that inadyn received an update with this version too.

The log doesn't show any other entries prior to each update, and my IP is not changing between forced updates.
The process ID is changing each time too, not sure if that is normal and it is only invoked as required, or if it is intended to stay resident to monitor for IP changes.

Sounds like IPv6 might be enabled. It can also trigger a DDNS update. Is it?

IPv6 is enabled, though I am sceptical that this is the cause.
The thing is, this log message says it is a "forced update" which implies that there was no IP change, and that it was simply pushing an update for the sake of keeping the server hearbeat alive.
I have also not changed anything in my IPv6 configuration since the update.

I did try changing the DDNS forced update interval in case the value was corrupted, or in a new format with the new inadyn version. Doing this forced an update at 8:32am, so I was interested to see if the next forced update would occur at 8:47, or 9:32.
It was a 8:47, which showed that the forced updates were occurring on the original schedule (presumably aligning with the boot-time, or the time my connection was first established).

FWIW, an IPv6 scan returns the following:

AC86U, 386.9: ICMPv6 = ’Echo no reply’.
AX88U, 388.1: ICMPv6 = ‘Echo Stealth’.

Both routers return ‘Stealth’ for all other ports.
