I am using the 5ghz and it’s very fast. I also don’t have Mac filtering enable, nor is the 5ghz disabled. 2ghz even gives the scanning animation. Nothing happens on the 5ghz side.

Then I have no other idea. That code is closed source, it is the same code that Asus uses when setting up Repeater Mode, just that I made the list available within the webui.
 
I don't know if that is because it is on beta firmware, or if @RMerlin needs to take a look at the firmware update code for this particular model.
There is no RT-AX88U_PRO version on the update server because this beta is the first release. It will get populated once a 388.2 final gets published.

What does this mean for users of the RT-AX3000 like me? If my notes are right I use the RT-AX58U firmware. Am I using an "unpopular" model?!
Same firmware image, so same support. If I keep supporting the RT-AX58U, it will stay supported. If I drop it, it will also get dropped.

Both are available after clean upgrade from IPv6 menu.

I can only assume that if you force the client to use the router as its DNS, then the router is probably using your native IPv6 DNS server, which may cause whatever test this site is doing to fail.

I am at 1 day. The only problem I’m having might be related to something on my network.
If I reboot the AX88U Pro, some devices (iPhone, ecobee thermostat, Harmony Hub) seem to get assigned a DHCP address in the 10.10.13.X address space, even though they are on the correct SSID. I had a few Raspberry Pi’s on the network - disconnected them.
If I power cycle the devices, they then get the correct 192.168.1.X address. I even turned off WiFi on my iPhone, turned back on, connected to the correct SSID - the first time or two - 10.10.13.X. I even see error messages (and some dnsmasq Fatal 6 errors) during this period in /tmp/syslog.log - I can see the requesting device want 10.10.13.X…

I’m not sure how to find this rogue DHCP server…My Windows PC and laptop connect correctly to 192.168.1.X.

For what’s its worth, I never had this problem with my older AX88U running 388.1. I don’t believe I have added any new devices to the network.

Thank you for clearing that up, at least I know it is not a bug. Great work so far. The RT-AX88-Pro is purring along for rebranded model.

Auto select channel including DFS channels. If this option is checked before the 5ghz survey, then the results won’t populate. If that option, or a channel is specified other than auto in the wireless section of the gui, the 5ghz results show, but for my network they appear to be bogus.

What is the consensus here on whether to check (Auto select channel including DFS channels) on or off?

Can anyone else confirm this behavior?

ETA: I just checked my 5Ghz band with Wifi Explorer on the Mac, and the router is performing great. It has me on DFS 100 channel and 160mhz rock solid! I’m averaging 730Mbps on my iPhone 14 Wi‑Fi 6 (802.11ax) with 2x2 MIMO. I’m on Comcast/Xfinity 1400 at the router. Just have to chalk up the site survey is broken for 5ghz. Or site survey doesn’t work for DFS channels?

I am using an AX11000 as my main router and I am unable to change the 5G2 wireless backhaul settings in a AIMesh setup. It just says "applying settings" and hangs. I tried installing the lastest ASUS firmware and same thing. It works fine with the previous version. This is probably something you cant fix because it is closed source I am guessing.

I have the same package and I am getting about 850mbps on wireless.

Having issues adding mesh nodes. Rt-AX88U 388.2 Master
Cannot add Rt-ax88u and rt-ax58u as nodes. both fail if on 388.2, both fully reset. Unable to add the even if 1 ft apart from master.
When flashing back to stock 388.22525 i can add them as nodes no problem.

Use wired connection for now when setting up AiMesh. A fix for wireless node discovery is coming in future Asuswrt-Merlin releases.

 
Have symmetic bandwidth 1G fiber with AT&T. Under normal conditions the PC/Ookla Speedtest comes back at ~930Mbs +/- 10Mbps and so does the router whether SPDMerlin or it's own Speedtest.

At random times, the SpeedTest results at the router whether using SPDMerlin or the it's own Speedtest the results come back asymetrical, ~410Mbps +/- 40Mbps on the down and ~650Mbps +/- 50Mbps on the up. I've yet to correlate anything in the log (running Scribe) at the time window that issue happens in. What I can say is that only a reboot fixes it back to normal, so far. Restarting the WAN interface or AT&T modem does not fix it, only a reboot at the router, does not look to be carrier related. When this happens WiFi gets hit as well, and Speedtest results drop by ~150Mbs, but with asymmetrical results where the down is lower than the up. But on the wired devices, its a consistent ~930Mbs +/- 10Mbps in both directions regardless of this drop. This also happend to me with the 388.1 releases but with so many WiFi issues with that release this took a back seat, all the TV's and streaming boxes are wired sny way. But its happening again, before I HW reset the AX88 router and start from scratch, curious if anyone else has run into this situation. Thinking I may just reboot the router and monitor it to capture the different logs at the time the router goes into limp mode, instead. I've yet to disable Skynet temporarily to eliminate it. Plenty of RAM on the router, and CPU is in the single digits also no QoS at play either. Trying to find/locate/capture the bandwidth drop in the log. Looking for way of fixing this without a reboot, but no luck so far.

Looks like this in SPDMerlin, very easy to see normal/abnormal conditions.
