My apologies @Marin I thought this was the next shiny object to come down and tantalize us.:oops: No offence intended sir. :D

"USB Application - Network Place (Samba) Share / Cloud Disk" on beta 2 running on AX88U. There's nothing on the lower panel except the device name. Can't edit or do nothing.

There was no change to networkmap in beta 2. It is whatever the Asus GPL is, it's closed source.

Anyway, will transform the Dnsmasq in a powerful DNS server.

Dnsmasq remains principally a caching forwarder. It does local DNSSEC validation, tho that should normally ideally be done by the resolver, not by the forwarder or the server. Dnsmasq validating dnssec doesn't protect you if something between your client resolver and your router is compromised (for example, a malicious host file on your local client).

Hi.
There is network monitoring feature on firmware.
Then is it hard to add something like wan-action script for wan dead?
Right now I am using Chkwan script of Martineau but if built-in script is supported it must be better.
e.g. restart wan, reboot or restart specific service..

Hi, did a quick search in this thread without finding anything conclusive.

Tried setting up a ovpn server on a ac88 yesterday with no luck…

Is the ovpn server suppose to work flawless in this beta? I'm sorry, but since I have been on the GT-AC5300 for the last 18 months I have been "forced" to use stock fw until now. But since Merlins ovpn setup is a little different it might just be me doing something wrong when setting it up...

Another thing I've noticed is that if I set up a guest wifi, you can choose to limit it. The download limiter works, but not the upload limiter on the guest network. Not sure if this is "closed source" or not.

Yes. The proxy layer is who can protect. Another time, I was able to interact the Dnsmasq with Squid via Wpad. In the repository Entware, Clamav is available. I'm going to play with it.

Post your system log. Without it, it's impossible to tell what is going on with your server setup.

Here it is.

I have to admit I originally thought this should have been done in a few minutes, but ended up trying/changing all sorts of different settings for a couple of hours last night...

Edit: tried to upload the syslog, but that didn't work, and when I tried copy/paste in the text I was blocked..

Edit 2:
Trying again as suggested...

Post the syslog on https://pastebin.com/ then post the link on this thread.

Not sure if anyone has this same problem, I glanced through this thread and didn't see any reports on this issue I'm having with Beta2. The web interface will stop responding. I get a site cannot be reached. I have to reboot the device to restore service. I've tried IE, Edge and Chrome. I have two RT-AC86U one is in Default Router mode and the other is in AP mode. This started happening with Beta2 and did not have this issue with Beta1. I've also factory reset both devices and issue persists.

Open a terminal, SSH in, run the command
Code:
service restart_httpd
This happens with the AC86U and other routers on occasion. I have had it happen randomly for over a year. and the restart command always works with no reboot. RMerlin has not bee able to find the actual cause, but made some changes to https handling recently, but I don't see it in the changelog right now. I don't have much time to search however.

Tried that. After my factory reset I made sure I enabled SSH so I could do that but the issue persist even after restarting httpd.

EDIT: Looks like it finally came back after restarting HTTPD. I guess it took awhile.

Is there any indication that Asus will update any of its routers to WPA3? I know Apple is supporting it in iOS 13 and I believe some other routers support WPA3 now.
