Thank you especially for the "Custom DDNS" (using joker.com), I've used my old DDWRT router for that, finally can turn it off

I uploaded a separate DPI build for the RT-AC56U. I'd appreciate if people tested that particular build, I'll leave the non-DPI build available in case people run into issues, or they want to compare the wireless performance of both builds.

KNOWN ISSUES:
  • ntfs/fat32/hfs+ support broken on the AC56U non-DPI build. For now please use the DPI enabled build.
  • vsftpd fails to start if IPv6 is enabled. See this post for a workaround.

The FTP server now also fails to start on the AC68U. It was still working on 376.49.

Ftp working just fine here, check your path, new scheme if you have .pem file in use.
Mine running fine with SSL

If you use vsftps.conf.add check "custom config and script support options enabled, under Administration -> System"

Check with "Ps" if you have " vsftpd /etc/vsftpd.conf"

Sorry octopus, I don't have any knowlegde about the things you mention, but I got FTP working now by disabling IPv6.
With 376.49 that was not necessary.

Okey, that was one thing now fixed in next beta. I did not thought of IPv6

Asus has also been doing quite a few changes to iptables lately, and I don't understand the reason behind most of these.

I guess whatever they do, it's not ready yet. Testing the patch to enable the IPv6 mangle rules again showed me that connection marking with iptables is not working properly anymore. Of course all this is valid for my own AC56U running dpi enabled build which included the current changes of beta 2 plus the patch to enable the IPv6 mangle rules. I will try a non-dpi build shortly to check if it works any differently.

EDIT: tried the non-dpi build, everything works properly with it and iptables. At this time, the dpi build should only be used with adaptive QoS, the traditional one is not working properly with the dpi build. On another note, on the non-DPI build I lost all the additional 5GHz channels that appeared with the dpi one. Obviously the Wi-Fi driver is responsible for this.

Well I searched about it in the forum for an hour, couldnt get any meaningful thread about it, some pointing dead links, and some pointing the search function...

I was not getting this error until I get this beta1.

Code:
kernel: Dead loop on virtual device vlan2, fix it urgently!

or

Code:
kernel: Dead loop on virtual device vlan3, fix it urgently!

in dual wan, whichever is in WAN gets this error. DSL or Cable...

At least point me to an undead link if possible.

EDIT:

Found it, here for those:

I dont know the forum's search but google was better this time... (as usual)

Can I use the "NVRAM Save/Restore Utility Beta" to restore all my settings after doing a factory reset when upgrading to this release?
or do I have to enter them manually?

Running 376.49_5 on RT-AC68U now.

Thanks in advance!

Michael

It should be fine, but I cannot guarantee it. And you must manually re-enable OpenVPN if you had a server instance configured, and also not forget to enable support for custom scripts and configs.

I used the same nameservers as you, and I can't reproduce the problem. All my pings done on the router worked fine, regardless of which target I tried to ping.

I wonder if it's Ipv6 tunnel related, because this only happens after establishing an internet connection, when the IPv6 tunnel is about to be established, which needs "http://ipv4.tunnelbroker.net" resolved but can't because dnsmasq seems attempting to query a ipv6 name server which is not available yet, thus forming a deadlock.
At the same time I find "resolv.dnsmasq" like this:
http://freetexthost.com/gpykh5qqcv

This is from syslog:
http://freetexthost.com/nx1ak6rhzz

After I remove the two ipv6 server entries from /tmp/resolv.dnsmasq and send a SIGHUP to dnsmasq, pinging from router immediately works. According to the order of nameserver read seen from syslog, does this mean "strict-order" force dnsmasq to use ipv6 nameserver while they are not available, resulting a hang?

BTW, if I remove "strict-order" in the first place and establish a new WAN connection and after that, if I re-add "strict-order" back, everything fine.
Thx

Adaptive QOS bugs

Merlin,

I am seeing a bug in the Adaptive QoS - WAN/LAN Bandwidth Monitor:

With App Analysis On, the Host Totals are showing 0k up/down, but if you drill into the host, it shows General with say 300k up/ 400k down. But the Totals on the dials at the top for the WAN are smaller than the total for General for example.

I haven't tried disabling Traffic Analysis yet to see if that has any impact on it or not.

Only thing I see in system log is this
kernel: htb: htb qdisc 17: is non-work-conserving?

Just thought I would let you know.

T.

It works, but for wifi mac filter list, make sure wl1 and wl2 are same from nvram. As they are combined now, but still copying to 2 nvram variables.

That's a good point......I'll see what I can come up with for the next release to automatically handle that case.

@RMerlin

The kernel: Dead loop on virtual device vlan2, fix it urgently! is back

@RMerlin

wen i set the Guest Network on , the HW acceleration get CTF only , and FA not working .

I make a Reboot FA not working

Asus disabled FA from what I can see.

Sorry, what is FA?
