New Around Here
Considering this as a new router but am looking for an option to replace my old Actiontech PK5000 but I think that this is the wrong option since I will also need to get a DSL modem as well. Does anyone know of anything comparable out there in a combo modem\router that can achieve the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz performance of the Nighthawk?

Who is your ISP?
The best thing is to turn off the wireless on the Actiontech PK5000 and put it in bridge mode. Then you can use the NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900.

N7000 is fine router.

I got it today for fun, not sure if i am gonna keep it or return it, but, so far it runs fine (DD-WRT).

I've had the Netgear R7000 for about six months. The strong signal has eliminated the need for a repeater.
